Elizabeth “Lib” Payne Sutton, 59, of Sylva passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020, after a period of declining health.
A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late William Roy and Mary Sue Messer Payne. She loved her family more than anything and always worried and cared for others before herself.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Sutton; an infant daughter, Denise Ann Sutton; two brothers, Terry “Shorty” and Roger Payne.
Surviving are her best friend and love, William “Bill” Isbell; two sons, Russell (Natalie) and Josh (Amy) Sutton; three brothers, David (Lori) Payne, Doug (Joyce) Payne, Mike (Charlene) Payne; four sisters, Wanda “Sissy” Ball, Debra Mathis, Kelly (Chris) Bearden and Lauren Payne; grandchildren, Jakob and Abigail Sutton, Cash and Dayzee Case, Drew, Isaac, and Alex Rice, Haley Fredrick; Tory Isbell, Brantley Isbell, Layla Isbell, Taven Isbell, Tava Isbell.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Sunrise House of Worship in Sylva with the Revs. David Burch and Tim Dillard officiating.
A gathering of friends and family will take place one hour prior to the service at the church.
