Deral Bradley, 89, of Sylva went home to be with the Lord, Sunday Sept. 8, 2019.
A resident of Jackson County for most of his life, he was the son of the late Harrison and Elba Deitz Bradley.
Deral was co-owner/operator of B&B Lumber Company and was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean conflict. He was a Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America and was the founder of Troop 900 in the Savannah community of Jackson County. Deral was an avid Atlanta Braves fan who loved golfing, raising cattle, canning and spending time with his grandchildren, who he loved with all his heart.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Elizabeth “Libby Dale” Bumgarner Bradley and Peggy Deitz Woodard Bradley; as well as six siblings.
He is survived by two sons, Larry Bradley (Gina) of Mills River, N.C., Bob Bradley (Karen) of Greenville, Tenn.; stepdaughter, Kathy Woodard of Pendleton, S.C.; four grandchildren, Matthew, Hays, Bert and Luke; one brother, Guy Bradley of Blairsville, Ga. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019, in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating.
The family received friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Love Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Matthew Bradley, Hays Colbreth, Bert Bradley, Luke Bradley, T.J. Bradley, Tanner Bradley, Robbie Middleton and Mike Hoyle.
