Myrtle Williams Burns, 88, passed away Saturday evening, Dec. 26, 2020.
A native of Graham County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Goldman and Miranda Williams.
A devout Christian, Myrtle enjoyed reading her Bible and attending Bible study. She also enjoyed singing and in her younger days sang with the Williams Trio. She loved all animals, especially birds, and loved attending to her flowers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred Holcombe and Herbert Burns; as well as five of her siblings.
She is survived by her son, Mark (Maria) Holcombe of Sylva; grandson, Clint Holcombe of Sylva; sister, Helen Kitchen of Whittier. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, at Fairview Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Mike Farmer officiating.
