Frances Foster Whitmire, 92, of Webster, died Wednesday, July 4, 2001.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 7, at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. She was the wife of the late James Arthur Whitmire of Brevard and daughter of the late Samuel and Elsie Moore Foster. She was an active member of Mt. Moriah Calvert Baptist Church for many years. She was known as a quilter, crafter and a "green thumb" gardener. She was past president of the Home Demonstration Club of Transylvania County and was elected the county mother of the year in 1963. She was preceded in death by one son, James Arthur Whitmire Jr.; and two daughters, Dorothy W. Kuykendall and Martha L. Cartwright. |

Surviving are one daughter, Margaret W. Bulloch of Webster, (Cartwright's twin); five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a retired logger. He was the son of the late William Joseph and Ola Allen Clark and husband of the late Peggy Dillard Clark. Surviving are two sons, Bryant Clark of Waynesville and David Clark of the home; one sister, Barbara Hooper; two grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. Dot RevisDorothy "Dot" Revis, 70, of North Sunset Lane, Sylva, died Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at Harris Regional Hospital after a brief illness.Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 7, at Sylva First Baptist Church, of which she was a member and Sunday school teacher. The Revs. Dr. John Bunn and Jack Hinson officiated. Burial was in Fairview Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Terry and J.T. Postell, George Rector, Mike Werhan, G.W. Revis, Jack Farmer and Frank Crawford Jr. A native of Cherokee County, she had lived in Jackson County since 1954. She retired from First Union Bank's Cope Creek branch, working in customer service. She was a daughter of the late Reuben and Laura Franklin Rector. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie Blevins and Lillie Mae McKeldrey; and two brothers, Clyde and R.W. "Billy" Rector. Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Robert L. "Johnny" Revis; one daughter, Terri Swann of Winston-Salem; one son, Robert William Revis of Waynesville; one sister, Lucille Weeks of Andrews; and two granddaughters. The Revs. Mike Moore, Earl Holden and Jeff Powell officiated. Burial was in East Fork Cemetery. He had an avid love for flying and was the son of Denver Stewart Henderson of Pine Careek and the late Orville Alexander Henderson. He was employed at Andretti's as a prep cook. He was a son of the late William Jackson and Bertie Lee Watson Warren and was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He was a Presbyterian. The Revs. Wilford Baker and Jesse Powell officiated. Burial followed in Gardens of Memory. A native of Calhoun County, Ala., he was a son of the late Frank Preston Ansley and Margie Thomas Ansley. He lived in Illinois, Indiana, Florida and Dothan before moving to the Echo community in Dale County four years ago. He retired in 1974 from Youngstown Steel Mill in East Chicago, Ind. He was a life member of the DAV Chapter 87 in Dothan and was also a member of the Senior Citizens Center in Abbeville. He was a member of the Henry County Church of Christ in Abbeville and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. For the past four years, he and his wife had been summer residents of Whittier. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Lillie Sexton Ansley; two daughters, Regenia McCauley of Whittier and Maria Dysart of Snellville, Ga.; two sons, Kevin Ansley of Echo, Ala., and Seaborn Ansley of Seattle; one foster son, John Lonnie Sauders of Denver, Colo.; three brothers, Frank Ansley and T.K.
