Cotton candy

The Cullowhee Valley School Parents/Teachers Association is hosting its annual festival from 4:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at the school.

The event aims to raise money for the Cullowhee Valley PTA to be used for school projects and equipment purchases throughout the year. The proceeds last year helped purchase iPads for students to use in school.

The CVS front yard will turn into a fairground with a candy cotton booth, face painting, inflatable games and more activities. Visitors will be able to participate in the one-mile Fun Run/Walk and can try their luck at the cake walk for sweet prizes. If it rains, the event will be held inside the school.

Food and drinks will be available at the school cafeteria.

The PTA has organized a silent auction featuring items to bid on including an Andy Shaw Ford service package, ticket passes to WCU athletic and Bardo Center events, attractions such as Dollywood and area restaurant gift certificates.
