Workers installed the Southwestern Community College logo on the curved front surface of the new Health Sciences Center last Wednesday. SCC has outgrown its Balsam Center, built in 1988 to house four healthcare training programs, spokesman Tyler Goode said. The new 55,411-square-foot building will allow SCC to expand enrollment and instruction in each of its 14 existing programs and add two new ones. Construction on the new building started in mid-2019, and completion is expected within the next month. Classes will be held in the new building this fall.
