Concerts on the Creek: Jonah Riddle and the Carolina Express

Jonah Riddle and the Carolina Express will perform at this week’s Concerts on the Creek at Sylva’s Bridge Park. Brothers Jonah and Grayson Riddle grew up in Western North Carolina playing bluegrass/gospel music in their church services. From the beginning the brothers clung to the roots of the music. Jonah takes care of banjo duties in the group, with Stanley, Scruggs and Osborne influences. Grayson is on guitar and does all of the group’s lead singing. The brothers’ father, Benjie, holds down upright bass duties for the band. Jonah and Grayson have had the privilege of picking on stage with many great artists and have performed at many concerts and venues across the country. Concerts on the Creek are held every Friday through Labor Day weekend from 7-9 p.m., at the Bridge Park gazebo stage. The Town of Sylva, Jackson County Parks and Recreation and Jackson County Chamber of Commerce team up to produce the Concerts on the Creek series. These events are free and open to the public with donations encouraged. Bring a chair or blanket. Food trucks will be at most of this year’s events.
