Safe Kids Day celebration

In honor of Safe Kids Day, Safe Kids Jackson County has partnered with Andy Shaw Ford to host a fun and free family event from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at Andy Shaw Ford (1231 E Main St.) in Sylva. The purpose of the event is to celebrate children, help families learn more about how to prevent injuries and take steps to make their kids safer. Children and parents will participate in fun games and activities while learning how to stay safe on the road, in the home and at play. There will be free car seat checks onsite and face painting by Macon Face Painting. Special visitors include Sparky the Fire Dog and the Smoky Mountain High School cheerleaders. Free food will be served. For more information about Safe Kids Jackson County or about Safe Kids Day, call 587-8225.
