“Cardiac Arrest Management’’

The Landmark Foundation and Great Smokies Health Foundation spearheaded a “Cardiac Arrest Management’’ competition with fire department personnel from departments around the county.

Landmark Foundation and the Great Smokies Health Foundation, the Landmark Foundation in Cullowhee has completed a “Cardiac Arrest Management” Competition. This program combined a training on cardiac arrest management with county fire department personnel on patient care prior to Emergency Medical Services arrival. At the end of the training, final scores for each group went into countywide competition.

Training and realistic aids were provided to Sylva, Qualla, Cullowhee and Savannah departments. Several Landmark Learning faculty were used as mentors and evaluators to train more than 40 first responders over three months of activity. Final scores for each group were close, with the Cullowhee Fire Department leading the charge.
