Harris Regional Hospital has added board certified cardiologist Scott Westermeyer to Harris Cardiology.
Dr. Westermeyer will practice alongside Dr. Frederick Dressler and Dr. Francis Nullet in providing diagnostic and medical cardiology to patients in both the outpatient and inpatient settings.
Westermeyer completed a fellowship in cardiology and a residency in internal medicine at East Tennessee State University, after graduating from the Quillen College of Medicine at ETSU.
Westermeyer has held cardiology service line leadership positions at hospitals in Georgia, Maine and Alabama. He most recently practiced in Gainesville, Georgia.
Westermeyer’s experience includes cardiac catheterization, cardiac pacing, echocardiography, exercise testing and nuclear imaging. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
“We are excited to welcome Dr. Westermeyer to Western North Carolina as we expand our cardiology services in the region. Dr. Westermeyer’s experience complements our team of expert physicians and staff providing care in the doctors’ office and in the hospital,” said Steve Heatherly, CEO of Harris Regional Hospital and Swain Community Hospital.
