The “I’m Finally Free” substance abuse awareness march and benefit concert is scheduled for April 11 on the Western Carolina University campus.

The WCU community along with  local agencies, organizations and businesses, will come together to stand against the stigma associated with substance abuse disorder and as a reminder of a real and prominent epidemic.

Local organizations that work with clients who have substance abuse disorders will be present. There will be informational tables hosted by organizations such as Full Circle Recovery at the WCU fountain between 3-6 p.m.

The substance abuse awareness march begins at 5:30 p.m. in front of the WCU fountain.

A benefit concert for Clean Slate Coalition will be held at the Hillside Grind starting at 7 p.m. Many local acts will perform at the venue, and more resources will be available from Homebase and Catamounts for Recovery. Acupoint treatment will also be available during the concert.
