Harris Regional Hospital and Swain Community Hospital last week announced the Smoky Streak to Health fun walk, 5K and 10K.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, with parking and registration at Smoky Mountain High School. Races begin at 9 a.m. A fun walk will be around the track at Smoky Mountain High School. Halloween costumes are welcome and encouraged for the Smoky Streak to Health.
“The Smoky Streak historically was an annual event occurring each fall for many years,” said Steve Heatherly, CEO of Harris Regional Hospital and Swain Community Hospital. “We are excited to bring the event back to the community as The Smoky Streak to Health to celebrate our hospitals’ mission of Making Communities Healthier.”
Registration is free for all participants. T-shirts will be provided to all who register and attend. Running divisions include male and female ages 10 and under, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70 and 70 and over. Awards and prizes include best overall male and female and the top three age division winners for each distance.
