The Freedom Fund Committee of the Jackson County NAACP Branch 54AB seeks nominations for the Fourth Biennial Humanitarian Awards.

These awards recognize local people and organizations who aim to create a better community for all people. Residents and organizations based in Jackson, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Macon or Swain counties are eligible to be nominated.

Winners will be honored at a public celebration from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at First United Methodist Church in Sylva.
