GREEN ENERGY PARK is offering glass ornament classes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, Dec. 7 and 14. Cost is $35 per time slot. Time slots will last for about 30 minutes and participants will make one ornament in that time. To register for a class call 631-0271.

THE ANNUAL AUTUMN BALSAM ART/CRAFT SHOW will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Balsam/Willets/Ochre Hill Fire Department. The event features arts and crafts such as baskets, chair bottoming, jewelry, homemade fudge/candies, oil paintings and more. A portion of the vendor entry fees will benefit the fire department. Free admission for shoppers.

ALL JACKSON COUNTY SOLID WASTE FACILITIES will be closed on Thursday for the Thanksgiving holiday and will reopen for normal business hours on Friday.

THE COMMUNITY TABLE IS cooking up a Thanksgiving Day feast for those in need from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu includes baked ham, candied yams, green bean casserole, stuffing, bread and dessert. They will not offer an evening meal that day. The Community Table is at 23 Central St. in Sylva.

THE JACKSON COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE hosts its inaugural Kris Kringle Mingle from 5-6:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 5, at the Dillsboro Town Hall. There will be photos with Santa Claus, Rudolph and Santa’s Elves; free apple cider and snacks; shopping and dining in Dillsboro; and holiday music. At 5:30 p.m., there will be a special lighting of the Dillsboro Christmas Tree at Town Hall, followed by a ribbon cutting celebration for the opening of Santa’s Parlor.
