Scotts Creek PTA President Kathy Mathis welcomes Devon Danner to school on her first day as a fourth-grader. If everything goes according to plans, Danner will not attend Scotts Creek next year, but instead will move with the rest of her schoolmates, faculty and staff to a new facility on Parris Branch next spring. Enrollment figures after the third day of school showed 997 students at Smoky Mountain High, 758 at Fairview Elementary, 596 at Cullowhee Valley, 447 at Smokey Mountain Elementary, 441 at Scotts Creek, 257 at Blue Ridge School and 35 at the School of Alternatives.
