Ochre Hill Baptist Church will present "12 Seats at the Table," an Easter drama, Friday, April 21, at 7 p.m.
The Sylva Community Good Friday Service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church at 12:15 p.m. Friday, April 21. Western Carolina University Baptist Campus Minister Wanda Kidd will bring the message. The Sylva Community Easter Sunrise Service will begin Sunday morning at the First Presbyterian Church of Sylva at 6:30 a.m. Participants will proceed up the hill to Keener Cemetery and a van will be available for those who prefer to ride. The Rev. Bill Serjak will bring the message. |

Refreshments will follow at the Presbyterian Church. The service is co-ordinated with St. John's Episcopal Church, First United Methodist Church of Sylva, First Presbyterian, First Baptist Church of Sylva, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church and Lifeway Community Church.
An Easter Sunrise Service will be held at East LaPorte Cemetery by the church this Sunday, April 23, at 8 a.m. The Rev. Avery Brown will conduct the 8 a.m. service, and the Rev. Gerald Denham will conduct the 11 a.m. service in the church. Locust Field Baptist Church will have its Easter Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. Guest speaker will be Clemmy Queen. Mt. Zion Baptist Church will begin revival services on Easter Sunday at 6:30 p.m. and continuing through the week at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The Rev. Kevin Brooks from Robbinsville will be the visiting preacher with singing nightly. "We extend a special invitation to the public for these services," said Pastor Tommy Ashe. Tuckasegee Baptist Church will have Easter Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. Breakfast will immediately follow. At 10:45 a.m. the Easter musical "Hallelujah! Christ Arose" will be presented. The fifth Ecumenical Sunrise Service will be held at Cullowhee Baptist Church Cemetery on at 7 a.m. Following the service, breakfast will be served in the church fellowship hall at 7:30 am. The surrounding church congregations are invited to be a part of the celebration. For more information, call 293-9024. Calvary Baptist, Deitz Memorial and East Fork Baptist churches will celebrate Easter together with a 6:30 a.m. sunrise service at East Fork Cemetery. Breakfast will be served immediately following in the East Fork Church fellowship hall. The Rev. Dennis Burrell will bring the message. Sunrise Service will be held on Easter Sunday at 6:30 a.m. at Cagle Family Cemetery on Cagle Branch. Moses Creek Baptist Church will hold sunrise services at 7:30 a.m. at the Upper Stephens Cemetery. Breakfast will follow at the church, and regular worship services will begin at 10 a.m. The church will also begin a revival at 6 p.m. Sunday. Services will be at 7:30 p.m. nightly starting Monday. Guest ministers will bring the message each evening. Easter Service at Parris Cemetery will be held at 2 p.m. with Roy Burnette, pastor of Jarrett Memorial Baptist Church of Dillsboro, conducting. Little Savannah Baptist, Webster Baptist and Webster United Methodist churches will host a joint Sunrise Service at the Webster Cemetery on Easter Sunday at 7 p.m. Webster Baptist Church will be in charge of the service this year with Pastor Mike Dellinger as speaker. Following the service, breakfast will be served at the Webster Baptist fellowship hall at 8 a.m. Donations will be accepted for the cost of the breakfast. In case of inclement weather, the service will be held at Webster Baptist Church. Easter in the Park Worship Service will be held on the campus of Western Carolina University in the picnic shelter at 11 a.m. Easter. This is a ministry of the Alliance Bible Church. Bring a lawn chair. An Easter Sunrise Service at Fairview Memorial Gardens will feature Boyd Sossamon Jr. on the trumpet and the Rev. Jack Hinson. Reg Moody Sr., manager of Fairview Memorial Gardens, invites the public to this annual event which will be held at 7 a.m. Sunday, April 23. |
