Shaping the cane for her Nantucket pattern, Mary Ethel Prather demonstrates her white oak basket-making techniques. Prather was one of the many crafters demonstrating during Dillsboro Heritage Day Saturday, June 10. Heritage Day, which celebrates the village's Appalachian history, is one of two annual festivals sponsored by Dillsboro merchants and is held every year on the second Saturday in June. |
