THE JACKSON COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH is accepting applications for a permanent, part-time (20 hours per week) Public Health Educator I for the Cullowhee Community Garden. The Health Educator will serve as the Garden Manager and lead person at the Cullowhee Community Garden. The Garden Manager will maintain the garden as a safe and orderly environment, maintain working relationships with food relief agencies receiving produce donations, and maintain all garden records. The Garden Manager will coordinate volunteers for volunteer workdays. The Garden Manager will plan, prepare and present educational programs in the community related to community gardening and healthful living. Starting Salary $18,813.74. MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in health education; or graduation from a four-year college or university and completion of one year of experience in public health education. Trainee and Work Against Applications will be accepted. Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina Driver's License.
