Bernice Elliott grows beans of all kinds - greasy backs, cut shorts, mountain half-runners and bunch beans - in 17 well-tended rows. "I've already put up 53 quarts and 18 pints and haven't even got started yet," said Elliott. "Bernice is just amazing in what she can grow in the amount of space she has. She's right there in the city limits," friend Maude Bryson said of Elliott's garden that's located in the Cope Creek area behind County Classic Real Estate. |
