Jackson Paper Manufacturing has awarded three $500 scholarships for the 2017-2018 school year. Scholarship recipients are Matthew Cabe, Jacob Gass and Cole Jones. Cabe is a Smoky Mountain High grad with plans to study Diesel Mechanics at Lincoln Tech. He is the son of Chad and Michelle Cabe of Sylva. Gass, son of Donnie and Jan Gass of Sylva, has two semesters remaining at Southwestern Community College where is he majoring in Criminal Justice Technology. Jones, class of 2018 at Oceanside Collegiate Academy, plans to major in Business Marketing at the University of South Carolina Upstate. He is the son of Travis Jones of Sylva and Pam Baker-Leigh of S.C. All three recipients are children of Jackson Paper employees.
