Book of the Dead

Dale Neal will present his third novel, “Appalachian Book of the Dead,” at City Lights Bookstore at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

City Lights Bookstore has two author presentations in the coming week.

Jamie Mason returns to City Lights at 3 p.m. Saturday. She will present her new thriller novel “The Hidden Things.” New York Times bestselling author Tana French said, the book is a treat, a “heist story taken to pieces and expertly put back together.”

Mason is the author of “Three Graves Full” and “Monday’s Lie.” She was born in Oklahoma City and grew up in Washington, D.C. and now lives with her husband and two daughters in Western North Carolina.

Asheville author Dale Neal returns with his new novel “Appalachian Book of the Dead” at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Neal is also the author of “The Half Life of Home” and “Cow Across America.” He currently teaches fiction at the Lenoir-Rhyne University Graduate Center in Asheville.
