Enjoy these delicious muffins warm from the oven for brunch with family and friends.

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

3/4 cups whole-wheat flour

1/2 cup oatmeal

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup fresh or partially thawed frozen fruits (cranberries, blueberries, or chopped apple)

2 eggs

1/2 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup margarine, melted

In large bowl mix flours, oats, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda. Add fruit, stir to coat. In small bowl beat eggs, buttermilk, and margarine. Add to flour mixture until blended. Fill greased muffin pan two thirds full; top with Dutchy Crust. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 15 minutes or until done.

Dutchy Crust

1/4 cup margarine, softened

1/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1/4 cup oatmeal

1 teaspoon cinnamon

Mix all ingredients together until crumbly; set aside.

Note: This is also good as a coffee cake baked in a 9-inch square pan for 30 minutes.
