Exhibit a 3D look at artists’ lives

A curiosity about past artists’ lives inspired Jennifer Hock’s research of room portraits, leading to 3D re-creations of works such as Vincent van Gogh’s “Bedroom in Arles.” “My goal is to emphasize a shared love of simple things these artists presented in their work – a table prepared with a meal, a window view, fresh flowers in a vase, the silhouette of a chair, a book to read or the shift of light and shadow,” she said. She used library books to examine the interior details. Her exhibit is at the Jackson County Public Library in the first two cases at the main door and in the larger case at the back door. It will be on display through September.
