Registration for The Jackson County Public Library Adult Summer Reading Program has begun.
This year’s theme is the Great Jackson County Read: Armchair Traveler. Anyone interested can come to the Reference Desk on the second floor of the Library to register.
This year’s theme is designed to encourage reading across a wide spectrum of countries, cultures, diverse authors and genres. Patrons will receive raffle tickets based on the number of pages read between June 3 and Aug. 3. The tickets can then be used to try to win one of several different prizes. Summer Reading Programs aren’t just for kids. Adults can also enjoy reading and traveling all around the globe.
The Jackson County Public Library expressed appreciation to the sponsors of the Great Jackson County Read: Armchair Traveler, who donated prizes for participants: BarkWood Studio (Gayle Woody), Baxley’s Chocolates, Black Balsam Outdoors, Cullowheegee Farms, Emily Rose Photography, the Friends of the Library Used Bookstore, Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, Nationwide Insurance (Howard Allman), and Western Carolina Athletics.
