The Jackson County Public Library is hosting a free concert featuring Ol’ Dirty Bathtub at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Community Room.

Ol’ Dirty Bathtub is a Jackson County bluegrass band made up of Brad Waldrop, Jerad Davis, Adam Bigelow, Neil Lippard and Carter Giegerich.

Ol’ Dirty Bathtub offers bluegrass and Americana jams featuring guitar riffs. They give progressive rock and hip hop nods to ’80s and ’90s hits. Their playing and stage presence is entertaining for fans of all ages.

Mental Health Seminar

The Community Room is also the site of a mental health seminar facilitated by VAYA Health at 1 p.m.  Thursday, May 26. The event is free, but registration is required.

The seminar is Enhancing Mental Health with Alternative Treatments: Laughter and Animal Assisted Therapy.

Can laughter and animal assisted therapy help manage mental illness? Many of the “outside of the box” interventions can complement traditional mental health treatments to create balance, stability, and a reduction in stress and its maladaptive impacts.

This course is designed for both care providers and people receiving care. Participants are welcome to attend all or part of the series. Call the Library at 586-2016 to register. Visit to sign up for free webinars offered by Vaya Health.
