Christmas celebrations are set for Webster United Methodist Church at 5:30 p.m. Sunday and the traditional Christmas Eve observance is set for 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 24.

The Webster Historical Society will begin the Christmas season with a four-part program at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Webster United Methodist Church.

Curtis Blanton will present a new chapter in his writings, “The Last Christmas in Big Cove, Christmas 2019.” The Ledford Family, including members of the Deitz family, will present a musical piece taken from a book by John Bunn, former minister of the First Baptist Church of Sylva.

Wanda Mills, who has done shows for the Webster summer series, will share a new work.

Howard Allman will offer John Parris’ “Of the Chimes and the Gift of Life” from “My Mountains, My People,” and Blanton will sing “Of the Chimes and Gift of Life.”

On Christmas Eve the church will host the 39th annual Candlelight Christmas Evening in Webster at 5:30 p.m.
