Dogwood Crafters offers 3 workshops in October

Beaded Serving Pieces – Spoons and Forks by Joan Marsden meets from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Oct. 13. Participants will make gifts by adding beads to the handles of serving spoons and forks or baby spoons or sugar tongs. All materials are provided. Cost is $12. Register today (Thursday).

Next is the Hammered Ornament Class also taught by Marsden, from 10 a.m. until noon Thursday, Oct. 20. Learn to bend and hammer aluminum wire to fashion striking metal ornaments that will be finished with a ribbon for hanging. All materials will be supplied. Moderate hand strength is required to shape and hammer the wire. Cost is $12. Register by Oct. 13.

Chrismon Ornaments with Junetta Pell, Cheryl Beck and Andrew Beck is from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27. “Chrismon” means Christ monograms, and participants will make ornaments from white pearls and gold beads in the shapes of Christian symbols. Participants will make three simple ornaments that teach the basic skills that are needed to make other designs. Cost is $12. Register by Oct. 20
