Two sessions of Jackson County District Court were held last week at the Justice Center with Judge Donna Forga presiding.
A session mainly for traffic cases was held Oct. 10, with a session for other cases Oct. 11.
Results of the sessions are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals and infractions, dispositions included:
Oct. 10
Akaba Ahmed Lasana Glaspie, 44, Bryson City, was found guilty of driving while impaired and reckless driving, sentencing continued to Oct. 17.
Lana Elaine Rhodes, 22, Canton, driving while impaired, sentencing continued to Dec. 12.
Marisol Belman Lopez, 22, Franklin, driving while impaired, sentencing continued to Dec. 12.
Amanda Lynnette Toneges, 42, Franklin, no operator’s license, fined $50 and costs.
James Edward Alridge Jr. 48, Fort Worth, Texas, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.
Angela Story, 42, East Hall Heights, Sylva, driving while license revoked, fined $100 and costs.
Joshua Adam Goff, 24, Winterville, driving while impaired – level four, sentence of not less than nor more than 120 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $150 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 48 hours community service.
Gerold Dan Harris III, 20, Brevard, driving after drinking by person under 21, sentence of five days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay costs, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.
Jesus Garcia, 22, Marlett Road, Cullowhee, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.
Walter Kelly Ingram II, 52, Sylva, driving while impaired – level four, sentence of not less than nor more than 120 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $150 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 48 hours community service.
Ariana Huicochea, 22, Hope Road, Whittier, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.
Christina Benton Filan, 56, Jonquil Drive, Sylva, second-degree trespass, sentence of 10 days, given credit for 10 days served.
Mark Jacob Davila, 57, Bryson City, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.
Hiteshkumar Ramanbhai Patel, 48, Monteith Branch Road, Sylva, (Alford plea) driving while impaired – level one, sentence of not less than nine months nor more than 17 months 25 days suspended for 48 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve 30 days active time, pay fine of $500 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 120 hours community service.
Rachel White Urrutia, 40, Windbrook Lane, Sylva, admitted to a probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of 45 days activated, given credit for 40 days served.

Eric Michael Bengivenga, 21, Manor Trace Apartments, Sylva, resisting public officer and no insurance, sentence of seven days, given credit for seven days served.
Kerry Hawk Otter, 36, Teelski Road, Cherokee, admitted to a probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of 120 days activated, given credit for 102 days served.
Georgia Glenda Greene, 25, Newport, Tenn., possess drug paraphernalia, placed on unsupervised probation for six months, ordered to pay fine of $50 and costs, complete 24 hours community service and complete drug education school.
Nichole Ann Bennett, 44, Franklin, larceny by trick, sentence of 120 days suspended for 24 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $50 and costs and not be on premises of Enmarket.
Ermelinda Montelango, 64, Heath Trail, Cherokee, larceny, sentence of 20 days, given credit for 17 days served.
James Michael Bumgarner, 39, Huckleberry Cove, Sylva, larceny of motor vehicle, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay costs, make restitution and have no contact with victim.
Destiny Marie Taylor, 24, Bryson City, unauthorized use of motor vehicle, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $50 and costs, perform 24 hours community service and have no contact with victim.
Tyler Ernest-Eugene Taylor, 25, Bryson City, possess stolen goods, sentence of 15 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay costs, make restitution and not be on premises of Extine Recycling.
Zachary Jarrett Randolph, 41, Heavenly View Drive, Sylva, assault on a female and injury to real property, sentence of 93 days; also admitted to a probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of 150 days activated, given credit for 57 days served, sentences to run concurrently.
Doralyn Marie Massung, 24, Franklin, possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition she pay fine of $50 and costs and obtain substance abuse assessment.
Garrett Kelly Nations, 26, Nations Creek Road, Whittier, resisting public officer, sentence of 60 days suspended for 36 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs.
Steven Joseph Veeck, 23, Mills Branch Road, Sylva, possess Schedule IV controlled substance, sentence of 20 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs and obtain substance abuse assessment.

Tyler Garrett Converse, 29, Highlands, possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs and obtain substance abuse assessment.
James Bagley, 48, Ensley Street, Sylva, assault on a female (Alford plea), sentence of 75 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he have no contact with victim, given credit for 41 days served.
Rigoberto Trejo Jr., 31, Scaly Mountain, possess marijuana, placed on unsupervised probation for 12 months and ordered to pay fine of $50 and costs.
Timothy Ray Smith, 53, Sherrill Cove Road, Cherokee, simple assault, sentence of 29 days, given credit for 29 days served.
Sept. 30
One misdemeanor case was heard Sept. 30 during a session mainly for minor traffic offenses presided over by Judge Forga.
Michael Warren Wilnoty Jr., 31, Ike Swimmer Road, Cherokee, possess Schedule II controlled substance, sentence of 20 days, given credit for eight days served.
