A term of Jackson County Superior Court convened May 6 at the Justice Center with Judge Michael Duncan presiding.

Results of the term are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals and infractions, dispositions included:

Kaitlyn Brooke Price, 26, Big Witch Road, Cherokee, was found in violation of probation on two counts, on each count probation revoked and sentences of not less than five nor more than 15 months activated, sentences to run consecutively, given credit for 111 days served.

Brooklyn Mercedes McCoy, 25, Spirit Lane, Sylva, possess marijuana, placed on supervised probation for 18 months and ordered to pay costs, make restitution of $1,200, perform 40 hours community service, obtain substance abuse assessment and testify against co-defendant; sell/deliver marijuana, prayer for judgment continued from term to term for 18 months.

Baron Houston Sutton, 33 Rocky Branch Road, Whittier, admitted to a probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of 45 days activated, given credit for 45 days served.

Edward D. Taylor, 31, Young Squirrel Drive, Cherokee, admitted to a probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of not less than five nor more than 15 months activated, given credit for 56 days served.

Walter Lewis Underwood, 40, Zeb Alley Road, Cashiers, breaking and/or entering, sentence of not less than seven nor more than 18 months suspended for 24 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve 30 days active time, pay fine of $400 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, have no contact with and not be on the premises of victims and not be on premises of Sims Valley Subdivision, given credit for 14 days served; attempted breaking and/or entering, sentence of not less than five nor more than 15 months suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay costs.

Dwight Samuel Parker, 30, Mt. Noble Road, Cherokee, possess methamphetamine, sentence of not less than five nor more than 15 months suspended for 18 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $200 and costs and obtain substance abuse assessment, given credit for 60 days served.

Edgar Morales Paz, 30, Franklin, two counts possess methamphetamine, placed on supervised probation for 18 months, ordered to pay costs, perform 40 hours community service and obtain substance abuse assessment.
