Two sessions of Jackson County District Court were held last week at the Justice Center with Judge Roy Wijewickrama presiding.

A session mainly for traffic cases was held Oct. 21, with a session for other cases Oct. 22.

Results of the sessions are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals and infractions, dispositions included:

Oct. 21

Scott Alan Mitchell,40 Mountain Harbour Club, Glenville, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Zachary Shea Wenger, 30, Bryson City, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Bernardo H. Martinez, 47, Pigeon Forge, Tenn., driving while impaired, continued to Jan. 21 for sentencing.

Steven Michael Cubra, 61, Chipper Curve Road, Sylva, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Victoria Stacey Duncan, 23, Marion, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Jose Alfonso Silva, 55, Patriot Drive, Sylva, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Stephen Dwayne Walkingstick, 35, Washington Creek Road, Cherokee, driving while license revoked, sentence of 45 days suspended for 18 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $175 and costs and perform 24 hours community service.

Shaikeem Torrez Pickens, 25, Fairview, possess marijuana and possess marijuana paraphernalia, sentence of seven days, given credit for seven days served, fined $100 and costs.

Jerry Thomas Stines, 28, Clyde, driving while impaired – level two, sentence of not less than nor more than 12 months suspended for 24 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve eight days active time, pay fine of $350 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment and surrender driver’s license.

Buford William Smith, 47, Old Mission Road, Cherokee, driving while impaired, continued to Jan. 21 for sentencing,

Brice Morgan Green, 20, Greer, S.C., driving while impaired – level four, sentence of not less than nor more than 120 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $150 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 48 hours community service.

Carly Madison Beam, 23, Shelby, driving while impaired, continued to Jan. 21 for sentencing.

Sierra Salone Jenkins, 29, Levi Mathis Road, Whittier, larceny, sentence of 10 days, given credit for 10 days served.

Kevin Wesley Goforth, 27, Magic Circle, Sylva, aggravated possession of marijuana and possess marijuana paraphernalia, placed on unsupervised probation for six months, fined $100 and costs and ordered to obtain initial evaluation by assessment agency.

Michael David Goforth, 27, Songbird Lane, Sylva, aggravated possession of marijuana, possess marijuana paraphernalia and maintain vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substance, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $125 and costs.

Dalton Michael Marler, 20, Asheville, driving after drinking by person under 21, continued to Dec. 2 for sentencing.

Vernon Frank Taylor, 58, Willets Branch Road, Cherokee, second-degree trespass, sentence of nine days, given credit for nine days served.

Jamy Queen, 26, Raymond Lambert Road, Cherokee, speeding 93 mph in a 55 mph zone, fined $175 and costs.

Lorenzo V. Bueno, 34, Hilltop Trailer Park, Sylva, no operator’s license, fined $50 and costs.

Gerardo Rodriguez Morales, 42, Snapdragon Lane, Sylva, driving while license revoked, fined $75 and costs.

Oct. 22

Cody Elmer Levi Owen, 23, Allman Road, Sylva, reckless driving and speeding 90 mph in a 60 mph zone, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $175 and costs.

Laura Miller Zepeda, 44, Cactus Loop, Sylva, possess marijuana paraphernalia, placed on unsupervised probation for six months, fined $50 and costs and ordered to obtain substance abuse assessment.

Rene Clontz, 50, Last Frontier Trail, Whittier, cyberstalking, prayer for judgment continued from term to term on condition she pay costs and have no contact with victims.

Amanda Lee Mezyk, 30, Zeb Alley Road, Cashiers, larceny by trick, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she make restitution and not be on premises of Ingles, given credit for four days served.

Jackson Cooper Salmons, 18, Burlington, injury to personal property, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, make restitution and not be on premises of Western Carolina University.

Kimberly Jones Parton, 53, Dahlia Loop, Cherokee, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Jacob Daniel Moody, 20, Haven Hollow, Sylva, possess drug paraphernalia and solicit to commit felony to wit possess cocaine, placed on unsupervised probation for six months, fined $100 and costs and ordered to perform 24 hours community service.

Harrison Ryan Chisholm, 18, Cattle Drive, Whittier, possess marijuana, placed on unsupervised probation for six months, fined $75 and costs and ordered to obtain substance abuse assessment; possess handgun by minor, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs and perform 24 hours community service.

Earnest Lee Bryant, 36, Henderson, disorderly conduct, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $75 and costs and not be on premises of Harrah’s Cherokee Casino.

Jessica Jones, 34, Bryson City, breaking or entering, possess drug paraphernalia and solicit to commit felony to wit posses methamphetamine, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs and have no contact with and not be on premises of victim.

Oliver Ishmael Clark, 22, Bryson City, two counts larceny, sentence of 45 days suspended for 10 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs and make restitution, given credit for 10 days served.

Randy Topez Stewart, 45, Asheville, driving while license revoked, sentence of 10 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $75 and costs.

Brittanee Lyn George, 34, Big Cove Road, Cherokee, resisting public officer and second-degree trespass, sentence of 25 days, given credit for 25 days served.

Robert Lee Cutlip, 22, Bluefield, W.Va., resisting public officer, fictitious registration and no operator’s license, sentence of 21 days, given credit for 21 days served.

Amanda Dawn Clawson, 38, Mill Creek Road, Cullowhee, common law uttering and common law forgery, sentence of 120 days suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs; assault on government official/employee and resisting public officer, sentence of 120 days suspended for 24 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition she serve 14 days active time, pay fine of $175 and costs and obtain substance abuse assessment, given credit for 14 days served.

Christopher Robert Morgan, 21, Candler, possess marijuana, placed on unsupervised probation for six months, fined $100 and costs and ordered to obtain substance abuse assessment.

Tristan Nathaniel Johnson, 20, Elon, injury to personal property, sentence of 45 days suspended for 18 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $150 and costs, make restitution, perform 24 hours community service and not be on premises of WCU.

Alice Louise Parton, 44, Pumpkin Lane, Cherokee, resisting public officer, sentence of four days, given credit for four days served.

Jeffery Childers, 37, Rushing Rapids, Cullowhee, unauthorized use of motor vehicle, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs and have no contact with victim, given credit for 20 days served.
