Two sessions of Jackson County District Court were held last week at the Justice Center with Judge Rick Walker presiding.

A session mainly for traffic cases was held Nov. 18, with a session for other cases Nov. 19.

Results of the sessions are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals and infractions, dispositions included:

Nov. 18

Matthew Smith Mord-horst, 23, Bryson City, driving while license revoked, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs.

Nicole Melinda Blackwell, 26, Marshall, was found guilty of driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Juanita Ruth Andrus Colon, 46, Palmyra, Tenn., driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service; possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 36 days, given credit for 36 days served.

Austin Cody Fuller, 21, J.D. Lambert Road, Cherokee, flee/elude arrest with  motor vehicle, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay costs, given credit for 10 days served.

Ricky William Moore, 48, Picket Lane, Sylva, driving while impaired – level two, sentence of not less than nor more than 12 months suspended for 36 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve seven days active time, pay fine of $300 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment and surrender driver’s license; possess Schedule II controlled substance, sentence of 120 days suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $200 and costs.

Amanda Lee Eaton, 38, Macktown Road, Sylva, resisting public officer, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $150 and costs.

Filberto Paz-Morales, 48, Honor Court, Glenville, driving while impaired – level three, sentence of not less than nor more than six months suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $250 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 72 hours community service; driving while license revoked, fined $50.

Elizabeth Faye Lenore Rivera, 23, Too How Road, Cullowhee, resisting public officer, sentence of 10 days, given credit for 10 days served.

Timothy John Lynch, 49, Crossing Lane, Sylva, driving while impaired, sentencing continued to Jan. 21.

Matthew Allen Kiser, 29, Atlanta, Ga., driving while impaired, sentencing continued to Jan. 21.

Jeremy Todd Buchanan, 40, Limestone Trail, Sylva, driving while license revoked, sentence of 20 days suspended for one year and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $150 and costs.

William Aaron Ferguson, 40, Maggie Valley, driving while impaired, sentencing continued to Jan. 21.

Daniel Steven Chiarello, 33, Fuquay-Varina, driving while impaired, sentencing continued to Jan. 21.

John Edward Lewis, 41, Wake Robin Road, Cullowhee, driving while impaired – level two, sentence of not less than nor more than 12 months suspended for 36 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve seven days active time, pay fine of $300 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment and surrender driver’s license.

Cody McCall Franklin, 28, Watson Branch Road, Cherokee, no operator’s license, fined $100 and costs.

Frederick Earl Stillwell IV, 20, Dublin Court, Sylva, driving while license revoked, fined $50 and costs.

Lawrence Redner Jr., 68, Bolivia, failure to stop for school bus, fined $100 and costs.

Carlin James Shelton, 27, Willow Pond Drive, Cullowhee, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Jacob Price Wilson, 22, Franklin, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Joshua Clifford Marks, 40, Nutmeg Lane, Sylva, driving while impaired – level two, sentence of not less than nor more than 12 months suspended for 36 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve seven days active time, pay fine of $300 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment and surrender driver’s license, given credit for seven days served.

Nov. 19

Larry Allen Watson II, 42,  Cheerful Cove Road, Cullowhee, driving while license revoked, fined $50 and costs.

Angelique Michele Harris, 38, Sallie Ann Drive, Cherokee, possess drug paraphernalia, solicit to commit a felony to wit possess methamphetamine and second-degree trespass, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay costs.

Shelby James Davis, 28, Forest Cove Road, Cullowhee, unauthorized use of motor vehicle and resisting public officer, sentence of 120 days suspended for 24 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve 25 days active time, pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment and have no contact with victims, given credit for 25 days served; communicating threats and second-degree trespass, sentence of 120 days suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs.

Lauren Ashley Riddle, 28, Pappys Path, Balsam, larceny, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition she pay fine of $200 and make restitution.

Patrick Stuart McGrath, 29, Yadkinville, communicating threats, sentence of 45 days suspended for 36 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay costs, obtain mental evaluation and not be on premises of Western Carolina University.

Zachery Tyler Minton, 27, Mountain Oaks Estates, Sylva, injury to personal property, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs and have no contact with victim.

Saqualla Antoinette Deal, 26, Charlotte, communicating threats, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she have no contact with and not be on premises of victim, given credit for 26 days served.

Walter George Haynes, 32, Waynesville, possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 120 days.
