Two sessions of Jackson County District Court were held last week at the Justice Center with Judge Kris Earwood presiding.

A session mainly for traffic cases was held Feb. 21, with a session for other cases Feb. 22.

Results of the sessions are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals and infractions, dispositions included:

 

Feb. 21

Bradley Martin Conrad, 40, Skyland Drive, Sylva, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Devon Tracey Moffitt, 22, Hendersonville, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Alicia Cheyenne Franks, 24, Waynesville, driving while impaired – level one, sentence of not less than nor more than 24 months suspended for 48 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition she serve 10 days active time, pay fine of $500 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and abstain from alcohol consumption for 120 days.

Dallas Lyle Shropshire Dempsey, 26, Upper Ridge Road, Glenville, driving while license revoked, sentence of 15 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs.

Jacquelyn Ruth Stewart, 35, Rock Quarry Road, Sylva, waived preliminary hearing and was bound over to Superior Court on a charge of possession of heroin.

 

Feb. 22

Tiara Keann Smith, 39, Old #4 Road, Cherokee, driving while impaired – level four, sentence of not less than nor more than 120 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $150 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 48 hours community service.

Jennifer Fox, 44, Warrenville, S.C., assault on individual with disability, sentence of 75 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $150 and costs and have no contact with victim.

Kevin Scott Watson, 29, East Sylva Circle, Sylva, possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs and obtain substance abuse assessment.

Jessica Lynn Holliday, 33, Mockingbird Lane, Sylva, defrauding drug alcohol screen tests, sentence of 60 days, given credit for 60 days served; also admitted to four counts of probation violation, on each count probation revoked and sentence of 150 days, 120 days, 120 days and 45 days activated, on first three probation sentences given credit for 89 days served, on fourth sentence given credit for 45 days served, sentences to run concurrently.

Chastity Rogers Flippo, 44, Birdtown Road, Cherokee, possess Schedule IV substance, placed on unsupervised probation for six months, ordered to pay fine of $50 and costs.

Ralph Willie Frizzell, 58, West Ridge Road, Sylva, possess drug paraphernalia, placed on unsupervised probation for 12 months, ordered to pay costs.

Trista May Best, 31, Jasmine Lane, Sylva, possess drug paraphernalia, placed on unsupervised probation for 12 months, ordered to pay costs.

Durwood Chase Fox, 21, Painttown Road, Cherokee, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs and obtain substance abuse assessment.

Donerio Rodrecus Robinson, 38, Salisbury, give false report to police station, sentence of 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs.

Travis Jones, 46, Allman Road, Sylva, possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of seven days, given credit for seven days served, ordered to pay costs.

April Nations, 40, Stillwell Branch Road, Cherokee, possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 120 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs and obtain substance abuse assessment defendant appealed.
