Two terms of Jackson County Superior Court were held recently at the Justice Center.
Judge Brad Letts presided at a term that convened May 8, and Judge Robert Ervin presided at a term that convened May 18.
Results of the terms are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals, dispositions included:

Anna Elizabeth Parton, 42, Enoch Oocumma Road, Cherokee, admitted to a probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of not less than five nor more than 15 months activated, given credit for 26 days served, substance abuse treatment, psychiatric and/or psychological counseling, work release and DART program recommended.
Mark Allen Winstead, 36, Old Soco Road, Cherokee, attempted trafficking in opioids by possession, sentence of not less than 14 nor more than 26 months, given credit for 17 days served, substance abuse treatment, psychiatric and/or psychological counseling, work release and DART program recommended.
Lori Jane Cantrell, 51, Bigwitch Road, Cherokee, two counts conspire to give drugs to inmate, sentence of not less than 11 nor more than 23 months; larceny, sentence of not less than 11 nor more than 23 months, given credit for 24 days served, sentences to run concurrently, substance abuse treatment, psychiatric and/or psychological counseling, work release and DART program recommended.
Jacquelyn Ruth Stewart, 37, Rock Quarry Road, Sylva, possess controlled substance on prison/jail premises and possess fentanyl, sentence of not less than 10 nor more than 21 months, given credit for 16 days served, substance abuse treatment, psychiatric and/or psychological counseling, work release and DART program recommended; possess controlled substance on prison/jail premises and possess fentanyl, sentence of not less than 10 nor more than 21 months suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation on condition she pay fine of $25 and costs and obtain substance abuse assessment.
Shayla Faye Trull, 24, Locust Creek Road, Sylva, admitted to a probation violation, probation extended 12 months.
Jeremy Ryan Moore, 46, Beta Circle Drive, Sylva, admitted to a probation violation, sentence of 15 days, given credit for one day served.
Amber Carrol Leigh Bradley, 32, John Larch Road, Cherokee, two counts conspire to give drugs to inmate, sentence of not less than 11 nor more than 23 months suspended for 30 months and placed on supervised probation on condition she pay fine of $25 and costs and continue treatment through Analenisgi, given credit for 43 days served; also admitted to three counts of probation violation, on each count original judgment remains in full force and effect.
Angelique Jantile Kirkland, 39, Wayehutta Road, Cullowhee, attempted larceny of motor vehicle, sentence of not less than six nor more than 17 months suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation on condition she pay fine of $25 and costs and have no contact with victims; possess methamphetamine, sentence of not less than six nor more than 17 months suspended for 24 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition she serve seven days active time, pay fine of $25 and costs, submit to electronic house arrest for 90 days and obtain substance abuse assessment, given credit for 73 days served.
Zachary David Owen, 26, Clyde, admitted to three counts of probation violation, on two counts probation revoked and sentences of not less than 14 nor more than 26 months activated, sentences to run consecutively, given credit for 460 days served; on third count probation revoked and sentence of not less than eight nor more than 19 months activated to run concurrently with other sentences.
Walker Lee Bowman, 44, Big Cove Road, Cherokee, possess methamphetamine, sentence of not less than six nor more than 17 months suspended for 18 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve 96 days active time, pay fine of $25 and costs and obtain substance abuse assessment, given credit for 96 days served.
Christopher Brooks Gammon, 45, Hacienda Lane, Sylva, possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve 30 days active time, pay fine of $25 and costs, have no contact with co-defendant and obtain substance abuse assessment, given credit for 30 days served; possess with intent to sell/deliver methamphetamine, prayer for judgment continued from term to term, scheduled for review on Oct. 30.

Piper Betances, 41, Audubon Trail, Cashiers, nine counts obtain property by false pretense, on six of the counts active sentences of not less than 11 nor more than 23 months with the sentences to run consecutively, given credit for 653 days served, ordered to pay costs on each count; on the other three counts, sentences of not less than 11 nor more than 23 months suspended for 60 months and placed on supervised probation, ordered to pay costs on each count, also ordered to make restitution of $6,548.90 and perform 120 hours community service.
