Two sessions of Jackson County District Court were held last week at the Justice Center.

Judge Rick Walker presided at a session mainly for traffic cases June 1, and Judge Roy Wijewickrama presided at a session for other cases June 2.

Results of the sessions are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals and infractions, dispositions included:

June 1

Janette Louise Millett, 44, Larkspur Lane, Cullowhee, driving while license revoked, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition she pay costs; also admitted to a probation violation, probation terminated.

Bernardo H. Martinez, 47, Pigeon Forge, Tenn., driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Jacob Cody Taylor, 26, Canton, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Joshua Martin Radey, 20, Country Club Drive, Cullowhee, driving after drinking by person under 21, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Jason Lee Nations, 41, Revis Road, Whittier, driving while impaired – level two, sentence of not less than nor more than 12 months suspended for 36 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve 70 days active time, pay fine of $300 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment and surrender driver’s license.

Jeremy Scott Ledbetter, 44, Fox Creek Estates, Sylva, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Carly Madison Beam, 23, Shelby, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Charles Timothy Holland, 41, Potters Hill, Cullowhee, driving while impaired – level one, sentence of not less than nor more than 18 months suspended for 48 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve 30 days active time, pay fine of $500 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment and surrender driver’s license, given credit for 37 days served as an inpatient.

Jerry Michael Jenkins, 49, Red Tail Road, Cherokee, driving while impaired – level three, sentence of not less than nor more than six months suspended for 24 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $250 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 72 hours community service.

David Martin Johnson Jr., 23, Edgewood Street, Sylva, possess marijuana, fined $50 and costs.

Cornelius Worden Hartman, 38, Bryson City, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Joseph William Rockenstein, 72, Skyland Drive, Sylva, driving while impaired, continued to Aug. 31 for sentencing.

Kinley Caleb Nations, 18, Nations Creek Road, Whittier, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Rome Alexander Salem Henson, 20, Canton, driving after drinking by person under 21, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Julia Grace Long, 26, Hickory, driving while license revoked, fined $50 and costs.

Wesley Adam Fish, 27, New Hope Drive, Sylva, driving while license revoked, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay costs.

Chad Ray Lequire, 38, Lebanon, Va., possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 120 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $300 and costs.

Courtney Leeann Humphries, 26, Moose Village, Cullowhee, failure to stop for school bus, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs.

June 2

Brian Elliott Teesateskie, 44, Robbinsville, larceny, sentence of 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $75 and costs and not be on premises of Lowe’s.

Jesse Lonnie Harkins, 30, Mill Creek Road, Cullowhee, domestic violence protective order violation, sentence of 33 days, given credit for 33 days served.

Ethan Garrett Owen, 26, Norway Drive, Tuckasegee, possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $75 and costs.

Brett Daniel Willard, 25, Franklin, received deferred prosecution on a charge of possess drug paraphernalia, placed on unsupervised probation for six months, ordered to pay fine of $50 and costs and obtain substance abuse assessment.

Cyrus J. Koterba, 19, Charlotte, stalking, sentence of 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs and have no contact with victim.

Christopher Allen Cornette, 40, Lee, Fla., possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs.

Rayelita Dawn Long, 28, Big Witch Road, Cherokee, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 42 days, given credit for 42 days served.

Lindsey Adams, 24, Walter Ashe Road, Sylva, larceny, sentence of 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $50 and costs, make restitution and not be on premises of Walmart.

Lorena Marin Goodson, 17, Fairview Road, Sylva, simple assault, prayer for judgment continued for 12 months on condition she have no contact with victim.

Sandra Taylor Rhinehart, 44, Rufus Robinson Road, Sylva, possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 120 days suspended for 18 months and placed on supervised probation on condition she pay fine of $75 and costs and report for initial evaluation by TASC.

Luis David Acevedo, 20, Waynesville, admitted to violation of court order, all monies owed to become civil judgment.

Daryl Lynn Bryson, 53, North Robinson Creek Road, Glenville, admitted to two counts of violation of court order, on each count all monies owed to become civil judgment.

Steve Cosgrove, 45, Garland Buchanan Road, Sylva, admitted to a probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of one day activated, given credit for one day served.

Renate Moore Cosgrove, 43, Clayton Street, Sylva, admitted to a probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of one day activated, given credit for one day served.

June 1
