A term of Jackson County Superior Court convened May 24 at the Justice Center with Judge Thomas Lock presiding.

Results of the term are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals, dispositions included:

Richard Lee Hefner, 41, Sylva, was found guilty by a jury of larceny by remove/destroy/deactivate anti-theft device and habitual felon, sentence of not less than 120 nor more than 156 months, given credit for 294 days served, substance abuse treatment, psychiatric and/or psychological counseling and work release recommended, defendant appealed to the Court of Appeals; also found guilty of possession of stolen goods, judgment arrested.

Deundra Lamarze Rodgers, 29, Asheville, two counts breaking and entering and two counts larceny, sentence of not less than six nor more than 17 months, given credit for 14 days served; breaking and entering and larceny, sentence of not less than six nor more than 17 months, given credit for 28 days served, psychiatric and/or psychological counseling recommended; breaking and entering and larceny, sentence of not less than six nor more than 17 months, given credit for 59 days served; two counts breaking and entering and two counts larceny, sentence of not less than six nor more than 17 months, sentences to run consecutively.

Jess Phillip Standingdeer, 57, East Main Street, Sylva, two counts possess methamphetamine, sentence of not less than five nor more than 15 months suspended for 18 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve 30 days active time, pay costs and obtain treatment from Analenisgi, given credit for 49 days served.

Gregory Ryan Lockhart, 28, Moose Lodge Road, Sylva, two counts larceny after break/enter and one count misdemeanor larceny, sentence of not less than six nor more than 17 months, given credit for 12 days served, ordered to make restitution, substance abuse treatment and work release recommended.

Jacqueline Beatrice Moore, 32, Grove Road, Sylva, possess methamphetamine, sentence of not less than four nor more than 14 months suspended for 24 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition she serve 30 days active time, pay costs and obtain mental health assessment, given credit for 15 days served; another count possess methamphetamine, sentence of not less than four nor more than 14 months suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation.

Andrew Scott Vorheis, 35, Little Savannah Road, Cullowhee, admitted to a probation violation, sentence of seven days, probation extended six months.

Mackenzie Lee Mathis, 29, Corn Flower Drive, Dillsboro, obtain property by false pretense, sentence of not less than seven nor more than 18 months, given credit for 199 days served, substance abuse treatment recommended; two counts larceny of motor vehicle, sentence of not less than seven nor more than 18 months suspended for 30 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay costs, make restitution, have no contact with and not be on premises of victim and not be on premises of Tuckaseigee Water and Sewer Authority.

Lane Elizabeth Stocker, 40, Asheville, admitted to a probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of not less than 15 nor more than 27 months activated, given credit for 186 days served, substance abuse treatment and psychiatric and/or psychological counseling recommended, defendant appealed to Court of Appeals.

Hannah Mikayla Hilton, 22, Roosevelt Road, Sylva, admitted to a probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of not less than six nor more than 17 months activated, given credit for 58 days served; admitted to another count of probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of not less than six nor more than 17 months activated, sentences to run consecutively.

James Parker Bryson, 23, Divide Drive, Cashiers, admitted to a probation violation, sentence of two days.

Michael Curtis Nichols, 49, Atlanta, Ga., admitted to a probation violation, probation terminated upon payment of costs.

Christopher James Sando, 36, Whittier, admitted to two counts of probation violation, on each count probation revoked and sentences of not less than 10 nor more than 21 months and not less than six nor more than seven months activated, given credit for 81 days served, sentences to run consecutively.
