Two sessions of Jackson County District Court were held last week at the Justice Center with Judge Kaleb Wingate presiding.
A session mainly for traffic cases was held Aug. 29, with a session for other cases Aug. 30.
Results of the sessions are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals and infractions, dispositions included:

Alexander Milan Valdez-Hensley, 20, Kokepelli Place, Sylva, flee/elude arrest with motor vehicle and resisting public officer, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, perform 24 hours community service and complete defensive driving course.
John Patrick Fogarile, 31, Mount Holly, second-degree trespass, fined $100 and costs.
Aaron K. Fountain, 37, Winston, Ga., drunk and disruptive, fined $100 and costs.
Walker R. Soucek, 21, Calabash, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.
Jessie McLean Hanley, 40, Wild Horse Road, Sylva, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.
Kelly Lee Luckadoo, 47, Rutherfordton, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.
Lisa R. Schrader, 61, Speedwell Road, Cullowhee, driving while impaired, sentencing continue to Sept. 19.
Simon Christensen Bennett, 39, Asheville, driving while impaired, sentencing continue to Oct. 10.

Charles Timothy Holland, 44, Tahala Trail, Cullowhee, assault inflicting serious injury, sentence of 120 days, given credit for 44 days served.
Javier Alejandro-Luna Sanchez, 38, Bryson City, two counts second-degree trespass, sentence of 15 days, given credit for 15 days served, ordered to not be on premises of Waffle House or Blue Ridge Inn.
Charles Joe Allmon, 31, Big Cove Road, Cherokee, assault on female and larceny, sentence of 150 days suspended for 18 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $25 and costs, make restitution of $1,300, obtain substance abuse assessment and not be on premises of Granny’s Kitchen, given credit for 25 days served.
Alexander Wilson Dancy, 19, Purlear, assault on a female, placed on supervised probation for 24 months, ordered to pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment and have no contact with victim.
Carl Jeffrey Smilack, 26, Pine Creek Road, Cullowhee, driving while impaired – level two, sentence of not less than nor more than 12 months suspended for 36 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve seven days active time, pay fine of $350 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment and surrender driver’s license.
McKayla Cook, 25, Swiftwater Drive, Sylva, larceny, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs and complete mental health evaluation.
Sara Elise Watty, 36, Corn Drive, Cherokee, admitted to a probation violation, state’s motion to pray judgment allowed.
Felicia Dawn Marr, 32, Bryson City, possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 17 days, given credit for 17 days served.
Doug Tran, 36, Lawrenceville, Ga., possess drug paraphernalia, placed on unsupervised probation for 12 months on condition he pay fine of $100 and obtain substance abuse assessment; simple assault, prayer for judgment continued from term to term on condition he pay costs and have no contact with victim.
Amari Marquis Bryant, 24, Murphy, larceny, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs and make restitution of $1,020.52.
