Two sessions of Jackson County District Court were held last week at the Justice Center with Judge Donna Forga presiding.

A session mainly for traffic cases was held May 20, with a session for other cases May 21.

Results of the sessions are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals and infractions, dispositions included:

May 20

Patrick Anthony Hobbs, 20, Shelby, driving while impaired, continued to Aug. 12 for sentencing.

Katrina Marie Webster, 28, Macktown Road, Sylva, driving while impaired, continued to July 8 for sentencing.

Frances Nicole Colon-Sanchez, 28, Waynesville, driving while impaired, continued to June 24 for sentencing.

Kylen Hope Bailey, 22, Knoxville, Tenn., driving while impaired, continued to June 24 for sentencing.

Talmage Lee Middleton, 38, High Point, possess marijuana, fined $50 and costs.

Jason Andrew Beck, 40, Beta Road, Sylva, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Heather Hunnicutt, 19, Denver, failure to stop for emergency vehicle, prayer for judgment continued on condition she pay costs.

Joseph Diaz, 27, Parker Farm Road, Cullowhee, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment and surrender driver’s license, given credit for nine days served.

Bonnie Sue Bertram, 63, Walland, Tenn., driving while impaired – level two, sentence of not less than nor more than 12 months suspended for 36 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition she serve 14 days active time, pay fine of $350 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 90 hours community service.

Victoria Ashley Locust, 26, Washington Creek Road, Cherokee, driving while impaired – level two, sentence of not less than nor more than 12 months suspended for 36 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition she serve 14 days active time, pay fine of $350 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 90 hours community service.

May 22

Dale Robert Anderson, 24, Charlotte, failure to report accident, prayer for judgment continued on condition he pay costs.

Larry Mac Helms Jr., 42, Allman Road, Sylva, admitted to a probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of 45 days activated, given credit for 45 days served.

Nicholas Antoine Gholston, 36, Goose Creek Baptist Church Road, Cherokee, admitted to two counts of probation violation, on each count probation revoked and sentences of 45 days and 25 days activated, given credit for 45 days and 25 days served.

Travis Lindsey Hefner, 25, Haunted Ridge, Tuckasegee, possess marijuana paraphernalia, fined $50 and costs.

Autum McCoy, 29, Mount Noble Road, Cherokee, larceny, sentence of 45 days suspended for 24 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs and not be on the premises of Walmart.

Daniel James West, 39, Simpson Welch Road, Cherokee, second-degree trespass and assault on government official, continued to June 25 for sentencing.

Justin Ryan Burton, 25, River Park, Cullowhee, resisting public officer and second-degree trespass, sentence of two days, given credit for two days served, ordered to pay costs.

Kenneth Wayne Edwards, 49, Dillsboro Road, Sylva, assault on female, sentence of 150 days suspended for 48 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs and obtain substance abuse and mental health evaluation; domestic criminal trespass and communicating threats, sentence of 120 days suspended for 48 months and placed on supervised probation.

Kristy Lynn Guy, 37, U.S. 441 North, Whittier, larceny, fined $50 and costs.
