Two sessions of Jackson County District Court were held recently at the Justice Center.

Judge Rick Walker presided at a session mainly for traffic cases Dec. 16, and Judge Kris Earwood presided at a session for other cases Dec. 17.

Results of the sessions are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals and infractions, dispositions included:

Dec. 16

Robert Allen Hooper, 43, Keyhole Lane, Cullowhee, child abuse, sentence of 150 days suspended for 24 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $200 and costs; flee/elude arrest with motor vehicle, sentence of 120 days suspended for 24 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve 10 days active time and pay fine of $600 and costs, given credit for one day served.

Tia Nicole Shook, 25, Warne, was found guilty of driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Kevin Neal Chambers, 30, Braselton, Ga., driving while impaired – level four, sentence of 120 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $200 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 48 hours community service.

Cierra Necole Locklear, 23, Maxton, driving while impaired – level one, sentence of not less than nor more than 18 months suspended for 48 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition she serve 30 days active time, pay fine of $500 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license, perform 24 hours community service and wear alcohol monitoring device for 120 days to receive credit for 20 days served.

Ashley Rebecca Davis, 20, Shelby, failure to stop for school bus, sentence of 20 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $500 and costs.

Matthew Jason Beam, 35, Greenway Road, Sylva, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Josie Leigh Holden, 25, North Norton Road, Cullowhee, driving while impaired – level four, sentence of not less than nor more than 120 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $200 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 48 hours community service.

Grace Madhusmita Shuping, 21, Waynesville, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Troy Lee Clontz, 52, Canton, driving while license revoked, sentence of 120 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $200 and costs.

Dolores Lynette Shell, 65, Sherill Cove Road, Cherokee, driving while license revoked, fined $50 and costs.

Michael Joseph Martin, 31, Braveheart Drive, Cullowhee, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Cesar Rincon Resendiz, 35, Wake Robin Drive, Cullowhee, no operator’s license, fined $50 and costs.

Elvis Antulio Gamez, 31, Morganton, no operator’s license, fined $60 and costs.

Travis Ray Morgan, 24, Rock Hill Church Road, Whittier, larceny, sentence of 45 days, given credit for 45 days served.

Kathy Anne Masson, 51, Iron Mountain Drive, Sylva, simple assault, prayer for judgment continued on condition she pay costs.

Lynsey Marie Cogdill, 35, Waynesville, second-degree trespass, sentence of 15 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $50 and costs, given credit for 13 days served.

Alejandro Guadalupe Ordonez Rico, 22, East Flat Rock, resist public officer, prayer for judgment continued on condition he pay costs.

Kimberly Tallent Butler, 47, Franklin, larceny and second-degree trespass, sentence of 120 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $50 and costs, make restitution and not be on premises of Walmart.

Robert David Caron, 62, Sylva, second-degree trespass, sentence of four days, given credit for four days served.

Shelby James Davis, 28, Forest Cove Road, Cullowhee, second-degree trespass, sentence of 120 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $25 and costs and have no contact with and not be on premises of victim.

Alex Livorio Rivera, 27, Franklin, shoplifting, sentence of 120 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $25 and costs, make restitution and not be on premises of Cherokee Trading Company.

Danny R. Johnson, 38, Walter Ashe Road, Sylva, assault on female and domestic violence protective order violation, sentence of 18 days, given credit for 18 days served.

Dorothy Anne Meadows, 69, Aurora Lane, Sylva, shoplifting, prayer for judgment continued on condition she pay costs.

William Coleman Jenkins, 22, Bryson City, appeared on a probation violation, original judgment modified, probation continued, ordered to enter TROSA inpatient treatment program and follow recommendations.

Megan Dawn Wilnoty, 26, Mary Jackson Road, Cherokee, larceny, sentence of 45 days, given credit for 45 days served, ordered to make restitution; possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 45 days, given credit for 45 days served.

David Anthony Fabian, 36, Bryson City, resisting pubic officer, sentence of 14 days, given credit for 14 days served.

Brooke Lynn Seay, 42, Clyde, larceny, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay costs, make restitution and have no contact with victim.

Dustin Wayne Waldroop, 34, Franklin, resisting public officer, sentence of 10 days, given credit for 10 days served.

Maria Brenda Rubio Mandujano, 28, Franklin, possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months on condition she pay fine of $50 and costs, given credit for 14 days served.

Alexandrea Nicole Carpenter, 22, N.C.107, Tuckasegee, larceny by trick, prayer for judgment continued on condition she pay costs.

Timothy Jayson McCoy II, 28, Herman Lambert Road, Cherokee, possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 30 days, given credit for 30 days served.

Austin Moody Terril Rattler, 25, Cabe Road, Sylva, admitted to a probation violation, probation terminated.

Mark Buchanan, 21, Whittier, possess drug paraphernalia and possess marijuana, fined $50 and costs and ordered to report for initial evaluation by assessment agency.

Two misdemeanor cases were heard in a Dec. 23 session mainly for juvenile cases presided over by Judge Monica Leslie:

Joann Rosa, 35, Harp Drive, Cashiers, was found guilty of school attendance law violation, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition she pay fine of $50 and costs, defendant appealed.

Vladimir Vivanco, 48, Harp Drive, Cashiers, was found guilty of school attendance law violation, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs, defendant appealed.
