Two sessions of Jackson County District Court were held last week at the Justice Center.

Judge Donna Forga presided at a session mainly for traffic cases March 7, and Judge Tessa Sellers presided at a session for other cases March 8.

Results of the sessions are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals and infractions, dispositions included:

Gia Marie Lovisa, 47, Heavens Gate Lane, Glenville, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Kasia Jade Bird, 22, Rushing Rapids Road, Cullowhee, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service; resisting public officer, sentence of six days, given credit for six days served.

Westin Blye Smoker, 18, Robbinsville, driving while impaired – level two, sentence of not less than nor more than 12 months suspended for 36 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 90 hours community service.

Bryan Jennings Cagle, 39, Cloudy Valley Drive, Sylva, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Jamie Ray Hornbuckle, 46, Olivet Housing Street, Cherokee, driving while license revoked and reckless driving, sentence of 45 days suspended for 24 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs.

Todd Marcus Watty, 29, Bunches Creek Road, Cherokee, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Darin Dennis Guffey, 22, Kings Mountain, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Ricky Clyburn, 51, Skyland Drive, Sylva, drunk and disruptive, sentence of one day, given credit for one day served.

David Zachary Masters, 28, Boiling Springs, S.C., drunk and disruptive, sentence of one day, given credit for one day served.

Margaret Smith, 60, Macktown Road, Sylva, animal control ordinance violation, sentence of five days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay costs.

William Raymond Holshue, 18, Maggie Valley, possess marijuana, placed on unsupervised probation for six months, ordered to pay fine of $50 and costs, perform 24 hours community service and attend and complete drug education school.

Christopher Jason Kent, 34, Dahlia Drive, Whittier, driving while license revoked, fined $50 and costs.

Eva Arlenni Palacios Poxtan, 26, Royal Mountain Road, no operator’s license, fined $50 and costs.

Caleb Schroeder Handy, 18, Nannys Lane, Sylva, speeding 102 mph in a 45 mph zone, fined $325 and costs.

Hallee Nichole Hauser, 26, King, driving while impaired, continued to April 25 for sentencing.

Carlos Luis Cruz Marrero, 27, Budget Court, Sylva, waived a probable cause hearing and was bound over to Superior Court on two counts of sex act by substitute parent/custodian.

Charles Thomas Lambert, 72, Chipper Curve Road, Sylva, larceny, sentence of 120 days.

David Lee Mathis, 43, Upper North Fork Road, Sylva, domestic violence protective order violation, sentence of 75 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs.

Scotty Lee Nelson, 38, Union Hill Road, Whittier, admitted to a probation violation, sentence of seven days, given credit for four days served.

Christopher Lee Johnson, 25, Longbow Lane, Whittier, admitted to a probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of 45 days activated, given credit for 45 days served.

Luis David Acevedo, 22, Blackhawk Road, Cullowhee, admitted to a probation violation, probation terminated unsuccessfully.

Robert Cody Gaddis, 29, Weaverville, possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 120 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs.

Colby Andrew Bloom, 19, Legacy Lane, Cullowhee, possess marijuana, fined $100 and costs and ordered to perform 24 hours community service and obtain substance abuse assessment.

Christopher Nathan Stephens, 35, Lewis Cove Road, Whittier, admitted to violation of a court order, monies owed to become civil judgment.

Travis Dean Mathis, 31, Rocky Face Road, Sylva, place bait on game lands, sentence of 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $250 and costs.

Daniel Wayne Owens, 45, Hendersonville, four counts domestic violence protective order violation, sentence of 150 days; another count of domestic violence protective order violation, sentence of 150 days, sentences to run consecutively, ordered to have no contact with victim.

Shane Christopher Holder, 31, Washington Creek Road, Cherokee, first-degree trespass, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $75 and costs and not be on property of Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.

William Clay Tucci Caselli, 26, Franklin, assault on a female and possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 27 days, given credit for 27 days served.

George Vernon Norton, 31, Shook Cove Road, Tuckasegee, appeared on a probation violation, sentence of five days.

Josiah Maney, 19, Estella Teesatuskie Road, Cherokee, possess Schedule VI substance, prayer for judgment continued from term to term on condition he pay costs.

Masih Edward Catolster, 18, Indian Valley Drive, Cherokee, possess alcoholic beverage by person underage, prayer for judgment continued from term to term on condition he pay costs.

Yader Antonio Aguirre, 36, Cherokee, domestic criminal trespass, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs and have no contact with and not be on premises of witnesses.

Christopher Scott Ray Jr., 22, Bryson City, drunk and disruptive, sentence of 10 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs.

Lauren Elizabeth Rowe, 25, Mills River, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Gabriel Bruce Bolick, 39, Franklin, admitted to violation of court order, monies owed to become civil judgment.

In a probable cause hearing, Forrest Fred Morgan Street, 43, Boone, was bound over to Superior Court on charges of trafficking in methamphetamine, maintain vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substance and conspire to traffic methamphetamine.

In a probable cause hearing, Tony Maurice Green, 57, Tee Pee Drive, Whittier, was bound over to Superior Court on charges of first-degree burglary, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and injury to personal property.
