Two sessions of Jackson County District Court were held last week at the Justice Center with Judge Tessa Sellers presiding.

A session mainly for traffic cases was held June 24, with a session for other cases June 25.

Results of the sessions are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals and infractions, dispositions included:

David Earnest Frizzell, 40, Pheasant Run, Sylva, no operator’s license, fined $50 and costs.

Zachary Ryan Dobson, 31, Camden Place, Sylva, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Kathryn Lesley Foulk, 27, Bear Ridge Road, Tuckasegee, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Brionna May Swanson, 24, Pincushion Lane, Cullowhee, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Christopher Blake Miller, 20, Catolster Johnson Road, Cherokee, driving after drinking by person under 21, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $75 and costs, surrender driver’s license, perform 24 hours community service and obtain substance abuse assessment.

Joshua David Hardman, 30, Sutton Branch Road, Sylva, two counts misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, sentence of 60 days suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, make restitution of $2,134.74, perform 24 hours community service and assigned to TASC.

Carlin James Shelton, 26, Willow Pond Drive, Cullowhee, driving while impaired, continued to Oct. 21 for sentencing.

Jasmine Raedean Lambert, 30, Bill Lambert Drive, Cherokee, driving while impaired, continued to Aug. 26 for sentencing.

Megan Leigh Loyd, 28, Smith Street, Sylva, driving while impaired, continued to Sept. 23 for sentencing.

Osley Joktan Quincell Moore, 25, Peak Drive, Cullowhee, driving while impaired, continued to Sept. 3 for sentencing.

John Daniel Sheffield, 26, Raleigh, driving while impaired, continued to Aug. 12 for sentencing.

William Franklin Johnson, 45, Mutts Place, Sylva, resisting public officer and drunk and disruptive, sentence of 20 days, given credit for 20 days served.

Abdisa H. Lolo, 27, Stone Mountain, Ga., possess marijuana, placed on unsupervised probation for 12 months and ordered to pay fine of $50 and costs, perform 24 hours community service and complete Drug Education Class.

Patrick Joseph Stanley, 38, Delbarton, W.Va., possess marijuana and drunk and disruptive, sentence of 20 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs.

Kimberly Dawn Blauvelt, 37, Robbinsville, possess Schedule IV substance and possess drug paraphernalia, placed on unsupervised probation for 12 months and ordered to pay fine of $100 and costs, perform 24 hours community service and complete Drug Education Class; breaking or entering or possess stolen goods, sentence of 120 days suspended for 18 months and placed on supervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs and not be on premises of Sylva Goodwill Store.

Heather Marie Buchanan, 34, Vero Mountain Road, Sylva, two counts larceny, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $50 and costs and not be on premises of Walmart.

Patrick Burchfield, 30, Robbinsville, possess drug paraphernalia, placed on supervised probation for 12 months and ordered to pay fine of $100 and costs, perform 24 hours community service and complete Drug Education Class.

Tucker Xavier Nelson, 23, Buff Creek Road, Sylva, possess marijuana, placed on unsupervised probation for 12 months and ordered to pay fine of $50 and costs and perform 24 hours community service.

Sara B. Wilson, 46, Franklin, possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs.

Vernie Franklin Taylor, 58, Bryson City, communicating threats, disorderly conduct in a public building, second-degree trespass and drunk and disruptive, sentence of 28 days, given credit for 28 days served.

Corey Louis Garagiola, 23, Charlotte, cyberstalking, prayer for judgment continued for 12 months on condition he have no contact with victim.

Christopher Nathan Stephens, 32, Lewis Cove Road, Whittier, defrauding drug/alcohol screen test, continued to Dec. 3 for sentencing.

Gualberto Cantu, 39, Old Cullowhee Road, Cullowhee, possess drug paraphernalia and possess Schedule IV substance, sentence of 14 days, given credit for 14 days served.

Jay Parson, 47, Sylva, three counts assault on government official/employee, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation, given credit for 13 days served.
