Two sessions of Jackson County District Court were held recently at the Justice Center with Judge Donna Forga presiding.

A session mainly for traffic cases was held Feb. 11, with a session for other cases Feb. 12.

Results of the sessions are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals and infractions, dispositions included:

Feb. 11

Alexandra Elizabeth Church, 25, Reality Ridge Drive, Glenville, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Jimmy Wayne Edwards, 26, Begonia Lane, Sylva, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Jason Dwayne Horton, 44, Monteith Gap Road, Cullowhee, driving while impaired, sentencing continued until May 6.

Manuel S. Hernandez, 32, Violet Lane, Sylva, driving while impaired, sentencing continued to April 22.

Quincy Lamar Jackson, 26, Tucker, Ga., driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Kyle Davis Cozzens, 22, Fairview Road, Sylva, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Ashley Taylor Hale, 22, Pfafftown, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Matthew Woodie, 19, Fisher Creek Road, Wilkesboro, possess marijuana and possess marijuana paraphernalia, placed on supervised probation for 12 months, ordered to pay costs and perform 24 hours community service.

Alexander Tommy West, 57, Cherokee, driving while license revoked, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs.

Kenneth Lee Tramper, 40, Lee Bird Road, Cherokee, driving while license revoked, sentence of 15 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs.

Mario Alberto Rodriguez, 20, Watkinsville, Ga., driving after drinking by person under 21, sentence of 15 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs.

Pedro Juan J. Casanova Rivera, 26, Wolfetown Road, Cherokee, failure to stop for school bus, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $500 and costs.

Feb. 12

Nina Marie Junaluska, 35, Standingdeer Road, Cherokee, admitted to a probation violation, probation terminated.

Cory Thomas Roach, 36, Sylva, possess drug paraphernalia, placed on unsupervised probation for 12 months, ordered to pay fine of $100 and costs and perform 24 hours community service.

Lindsey Wilson, 52, Camp Creek Road, Whittier, second-degree trespass, sentence of 15 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $75 and costs and not be on premises of Harrah’s Cherokee Casino.

Jesse Machuca, 21, Scaly Mountain, second-degree trespass, fined $50 and costs.

Gary Junior Goforth, 28, Surprise, Ariz., possess marijuana, placed on unsupervised probation for 12 months, ordered to pay fine of $50 and costs and perform 24 hours community service.

Ashley Myles Smith, 28, Huckleberry Cove, Sylva, admitted to two counts of probation violation, probation extended 12 months.

Kayla Ansley Welch, 25, Robbinsville, resisting public officer, sentence of 21 days, given credit for 21 days served.

Thad Pierce Johnston Jr., 19, Cramerton, possess marijuana, placed on unsupervised probation for 12 months, ordered to pay fine of $100 and costs and perform 24 hours community service.

Christian Chandler Bonin, 19, Cope Creek Road, Sylva, possess marijuana, prayer for judgment continued on condition he pay costs.

Cleatt C. Fox, 47, Savannah Drive, Sylva, second-degree trespass, sentence of one day, given credit for one day served.

Brooke Tiffani Clonch, 26, Ridgeway Street, Sylva, possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 45 days suspended for 18 months and placed on supervised probation on condition she report for initial evaluation by qualified agency, given credit for 15 days served.
