Two sessions of Jackson County District Court were held last week at the Justice Center.

Judge Monica Leslie presided at a session mainly for traffic cases Sept. 14, and Judge Tessa Sellers presided at a session for other cases Sept. 15.

Results of the sessions are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals and infractions, dispositions included:

Sept. 14

Alberto Servin Nunez, 42, Franklin, driving while impaired – level four, sentence of not less than nor more than 120 days suspended for 18 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $150 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and complete 48 hours community service.

Lindsy Christine Shelton, 41, Ben Cook Road, Sylva, driving while impaired – level two, sentence of not less than nor more than 12 months suspended for 24 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition she serve seven days active time, pay fine of $300 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment and surrender driver’s license.

Carlin James Shelton, 28, Willow Pond Drive, Cullowhee, driving while impaired – level two, sentence of not less than nor more than 12 months suspended for 24 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve seven days active time, pay fine of $300 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment and surrender driver’s license.

Scott Allen Mitchell, 41, Mountain Harbour Club Drive, Glenville, driving while impaired – level two, sentence of not less than nor more than 12 months suspended for 24 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve eight days active time, pay fine of $300 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment and surrender driver’s license.

Kristopher Ryan Anderson, 30, Grad House Lane, Cullowhee, failure to stop for school bus, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs.

Franky Travis Lynch, 41, Sleep Owl Ridge, Cullowhee, driving while impaired, continued to Nov. 23 for sentencing.

Sandra Evone Franks, 46, Cornelius Ashe Road, Whittier, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $300 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Jefferson Josue Osorio Medrano, 30, Comet Court, Cullowhee, driving while impaired, sentencing continued to Nov. 23.

Dustin Scott Dillard, 39, Glenn Cabe Road, Sylva, admitted to a probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of not less than nor more than 18 months activated, given credit for 74 days served, sentence to run concurrently with any other sentences being served.

Sept. 15

Gabriel Bruce Bolick, 37, Franklin, simple worthless check, sentence of 10 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs and make restitution of $1,500.

Horace Leon Jones Jr., 64, Morning Glory Road, Whittier, simple assault, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and have no contact with and not be on premises of victim; two counts injury to personal property, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs and make restitution of $1,134.37.

Joshua Clifford Marks, 41, Nutmeg Lane, Sylva, admitted to a probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of not less than nor more than 12 months activated, given credit for 21 days served.

Irene Polly Wachacha, 26, Webster Road, Sylva, possess drug paraphernalia, placed on unsupervised probation for 12 months, fined $100 and costs, ordered to make restitution and attend drug treatment classes or have drug treatment assessment.

Nicholas Homan, 38, Kissimmee, Fla., possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs.

Felecia McCall Hinshaw, 49, Windchime Lane, Cashiers, possess drug paraphernalia, placed on unsupervised probation for 12 months, fined $50 and costs and ordered to perform 24 hours community service and attend drug treatment class or have drug treatment assessment; resisting public officer, prayer for judgment continued.

Sept. 11

One misdemeanor case was heard during a Sept. 11 session mainly for minor traffic offenses presided over by Judge Walker:

Benjamin Lee Swayney, 39, Maryville, Tenn., resisting public officer, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs.
