Two sessions of Jackson County District Court were held last week at the Justice Center.
Judge Kris Earwood presided at a session mainly for traffic cases May 1, and Judge Jerry Waddell presided at a session for other cases May 2.
Results of the sessions are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals and infractions, dispositions included:
May 1
John Michael Hurley, 55, Bryson City, driving while license revoked, fined $50 and costs.
Clint Jerry Totherow, 27, Parker Farm Road, Cullowhee, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.
Khaliq Jashun Barnes, 20, Hendersonville, aid and abet underage possession of alcohol, prayer for judgment continued on condition he pay costs.
McIntyre Joseph Koett, 21, Glassboro, N.J., speeding 99 mph in a 55 mph zone, fined $150 and costs.
Nicholas Richard Troidl, 39, Heartwood Way, Whittier, speeding 102 mph in a 55 mph zone, fined $175 and costs.
Selena Murphy, 47, Old #4 Road, Cherokee, communicating threats and second-degree trespass, prayer for judgment continued on condition she pay costs and have no contact with victim.
Styler James Lee, 20, Hickory, larceny, prayer for judgment continued on condition he pay costs.
Robert Lee Talley, 35, Castle Rock Circle, Sylva, waived extradition to Georgia on charges of possess cocaine with intent, possess firearm during commission of felony, reckless conduct, no operator’s license, improper display of license plate and possess firearm by felon.

Anna Marie Woodring, 36, Webster Road, Sylva, injury to personal property, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay costs, make restitution and have no contact with victim.
Darrell Scotty Broom, 55, Robinson Creek Road, Glenville, resisting public officer, prayer for judgment continued on condition he pay costs.
Kenneth Lee Maney III, 26, Bed Rock Road, Whittier, posses Schedule IV controlled substance, placed on unsupervised probation for six months, ordered to pay costs and obtain substance abuse assessment.
Erik Gustavo Ramirez, 22, Panama City Beach, Fla., fish with unlawful bait, ordered to pay costs.
Whitney Paige Gibson, 29, Bryson City, resisting public officer, sentence of nine days, given credit for nine days served.
Abundio Roblero Matias, 24, Waynesville, fish with unlawful bait, ordered to pay costs.
Carlos Aberto Matias, 27, Waynesville, fish trout water in closed season, ordered to pay costs.
Zachary Lynn Henson, 27, Flaxman Cove, Sylva, simple assault, sentence of two days, given credit for two days served; attempt to break enter motor vehicle and second-degree trespass, sentence of 30 days suspended for 18 months and placed on unsupervised probation, ordered to have no contact with victims and not be on premises of 1025 E. Main St., Sylva.
Christina Benton Filan, 56, Jonquil Drive, Sylva, communicating threats and misuse of 911 system, sentence of 35 days, given credit for 35 days served.
Heather Michelle Gregory, 33, Thomasville, possess drug paraphernalia, placed on unsupervised probation for 12 months on condition she obtain substance abuse assessment.
Samuel Paul Sneed, 31, Cherokee, larceny, sentence of nine days, given credit for nine days served.
Adam R. Blanco, 31, Blackhawk Road, Cullowhee, assault on female, sentencing continued to June 27, ordered to have no contact with victim.
Dylan James Gregg, 20, Chipper Curve Road, Sylva, larceny, sentence of 30 days suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he make restitution; another count of larceny, sentence of 30 days suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he make restitution, ordered to work 24 hours per week or perform 24 hours community service.
Jeffrey Allen Murphy, 49, Thorpe Drive, Tuckasegee, breaking or entering, sentence of 120 days suspended for 36 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay costs and obtain substance abuse assessment, given credit for 20 days served.
Austin Tyler Rice, 23, Rugged Mountain Road, Cullowhee, possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 30 days suspended for 36 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay costs and obtain substance abuse assessment, ordered to work 24 hours per week or perform 24 hours community service.
Avery Snow Gunter, 19, Chipper Curve Road, Sylva, aid and abet larceny, sentence of 30 days suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation on condition she obtain substance abuse assessment and not be on premises of Walmart, given credit for three days served.

Two misdemeanor cases were heard April 24-25 during court sessions mainly for DSS cases presided over by Judge Kaleb Wingate.
Angel Antonio Palma, 44, Cullowhee, appeared on a probation violation, sentence of 15 days, given credit for four days served.
Crystal Machae Swayney, 38, Cherokee, driving while impaired – level two, sentence of not less than nor more than 12 months to run concurrently with sentence being served.
