A term of Jackson County Superior Court convened Feb. 6 at the Justice Center with Judge Brad Letts and Judge Robert Ervin presiding.
Results of the term are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals, dispositions included:
William Joseph Conner, 32, Oak Hill Drive, Sylva, possess stolen motor vehicle and possess methamphetamine, sentence of not less than 10 nor more than 21 months suspended for 30 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve 116 days active time, pay costs, make restitution, perform 60 hours community service and obtain substance abuse assessment, given credit for 116 days served; larceny after break/enter, sentence of not less than 10 nor more than 21 months suspended for 30 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay costs.
Cole Ray Carter, 44, Hickory, Alford plea, elude arrest with motor vehicle and resist/obstruct/delay officer, sentence of not less than seven nor more than 18 months suspended for 12 months and placed on special supervised probation for 12 months on condition he serve 30 days active time, perform 96 hours community service, pay costs and obtain substance abuse assessment, given credit for 15 days served.
Tabitha Lynne Klier, 35, Citadel Drive, Cullowhee, possess methamphetamine, sentence of not less than six nor more than 17 months suspended for 18 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition she serve 15 days active time, pay costs, perform 50 hours community service and obtain substance abuse assessment, given credit for 16 days served.
Dustin Lyle Jones, 40, Redwing Vista, Whittier, possess firearm by felon, sentence of not less than 20 nor more than 33 months, ordered to pay costs, substance abuse assessment, psychiatric and/or psychological counseling, work release and DART program recommended; elude arrest with motor vehicle and possess methamphetamine, sentence of not less than 14 nor more than 26 months, ordered to pay costs, given credit for 15 days served; flee/elude arrest with motor vehicle, possess Schedule II controlled substance, sentence of not less than 14 nor more than 26 months, ordered to pay costs, sentences to run consecutively.

Timothy David Kibel, 38, Sutton Branch Road, Sylva, breaking and/or entering and larceny after break/enter, sentence of not less than eight nor more than 19 months, ordered to pay costs, substance abuse assessment, psychiatric and/or psychological counseling, work release and DART program recommended, given credit for 44 days served; breaking and/or entering and larceny after break/enter, sentence of not less than eight nor more than 19 months, ordered to pay costs, sentences to run consecutively.
Stephen B. Hersman, 34, Wolfetown Road, Cherokee, attempted child abuse with serious physical injury, sentence of not less than 18 nor more than 34 months, given credit for 376 days served, substance abuse assessment, psychiatric and/or psychological counseling, work release and DART program recommended.
Jason Lee Jolly, 42, Lexington, possess drug paraphernalia, placed on supervised probation for 18 months, ordered to pay fine of $50 and costs and obtain substance abuse and mental health assessment; possess methamphetamine, prayer for judgment continued from term to term.
Johan Rheder, 25, First Rate Drive, Cashiers, third-degree sexual exploitation of minor, sentence of not less than six nor more than 17 months suspended for 36 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve 125 days active time, pay costs, obtain substance abuse assessment and register as sex offender for 30 years, given credit for 125 days served.
Charles Ray Tolley Jr., 48, Riverbend Road, Sylva, assault inflicting serious injury, sentence of not less than 21 nor more than 35 months suspended for 60 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve 308 days active time, pay fine of $500 and costs, submit to house arrest for six months and obtain substance abuse and mental health assessment, given credit for 308 days served.
Travis Ray Morgan, 27, Rock Hill Church Road, Whittier, larceny, sentence of 120 days, given credit for 294 days served.
Alexandria Kaylinn Bell, 27, Opal Drive, Whittier, three counts possess methamphetamine, placed on supervised probation for 12 months, ordered to pay fine of $25 and costs and obtain substance abuse and mental health assessment.
Thomas Joseph Martin, 45, Bigwitch Road, Cherokee, admitted to a probation violation, probation terminated.
Travis Wayne Fisher, 37, Squeak Valley Road, Sylva, possess methamphetamine, sentence of not less than eight nor more than 19 months suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $25 and costs and obtain substance abuse and mental health assessment, ordered to have no contact with victims; child abuse, sentence of 150 days suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation; assault on a female, sentence of 122 days, given credit for 122 days served.
Jenny Lynn Davies, 43, South Wayehutta Road, Cullowhee, had her case remanded to District Court on a charge of driving while impaired – level one.
In the only jury trial, Michael James Bailey, 35, Duckback Trail, Whittier, was found not guilty of assault on a female.
Cheryl Dion Cole, 39, Dragonfly Lane, Whittier, two counts identity theft, sentence of not less than 10 nor more than 21 months, given credit for 22 days served, ordered to pay costs, substance abuse assessment, psychiatric and/or psychological counseling, work release and DART program recommended; two counts obtain property by false pretense, sentence of not less than six nor more than 17 months suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation on condition she pay fine of $50 and costs, make restitution of $2,403.94, obtain substance abuse assessment and not be on premises of Lowe’s, Middleton’s Pawn or Plaza Pawn; two additional counts of obtain property by false pretense, sentence of not less than six nor more than 17 months suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation on condition she pay costs; three counts habitual larceny, sentence of not less than six nor more than 17 months suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation on condition she pay costs.
