Two sessions of Jackson County District Court were held last week at the Justice Center with Judge Donna Forga presiding.

A session mainly for traffic cases was held May 24, with a session for other cases May 25.

Results of the sessions are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals and infractions, dispositions included:

 

May 24

Kristian Tyson Hooker, 30, Bel Air Road, Cullowhee, driving while impaired – level one, sentence of not less than nine months nor more than 17 months 25 days suspended for 48 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve 30 days active time, pay fine of $500 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment and perform 120 hours community service, given credit for 28 days served.

Jason Lee Tramper, 40, Old VFW Road, Whittier, was found guilty of driving while impaired and reckless driving, sentencing continued to July 26.

Barbara Renay Baker, 45, Wild Hog Ridge, Sylva, driving while impaired, sentencing continued to July 12.

Erica Leah Arkansas, 43, Whittier, second-degree trespass, sentence of 20 days, given credit for 20 days served, ordered to not be on premises of Catamount Travel Center, Whittier.

 

May 25

Henry Stacey Phillips, 50, Bryson City, larceny by trick, sentence of 60 days suspended for 24 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs, make restitution and not be on premises of Tribal Pawn.

Sheyenne Victoria McClellan, 21, Nicol Arms Apartments, Sylva, injury to real property, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $25 and costs and make restitution.

Brittany Jade Moose, 33, Ferguson Road, Sylva, possess drug paraphernalia, placed on supervised probation for 12 months, ordered to pay fine of $50 and costs, perform 24 hours community service and attend drug education class.

Michael Allen Moses, 25, Mulberry, Tenn., possess drug paraphernalia, placed on unsupervised probation for one month and ordered to pay fine of $50 and costs and perform 24 hours community service.

Carl Lane Bryant Jr., 34, Edgewood Street, Sylva, larceny, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he have no contact with victim, given credit for 16 days served.

Madison Shay Foster, 21, Bull Pen Road, Cashiers, possess drug paraphernalia, placed on unsupervised probation for six months, ordered to pay costs and perform 24 hours community service.

Dakota Perkins, 24, Parker Farm Road, Cullowhee, second-degree trespass, sentence of 15 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay costs and not be on premises of victim.

Shantall Wray, 57, Heavenly View Drive, Sylva, larceny, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $50 and costs and not be on the premises of Walmart.

Latosha Burns, 19, Garner, domestic violence protective order violation, sentence of 75 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation, given credit for 61 days served, ordered to have mental health evaluation and not initiate contact with victim.

Jacob Lee Maney, 24, Bob Hall Road, Whittier, larceny by trick, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs, make restitution and not be on premises of Plaza Pawn.

Mark Allen Winstead, 34, Old Soco Road, Cherokee, resisting public officer, sentence of 45 days suspended for 24 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs.

Daniel Wayne Warren, 38, Wayehutta Road, Cullowhee, assault on a female and assault inflicting serious injury, sentence of 150 days suspended for 36 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he have no contact with victim, given credit for 61 days served.

Andrew Douglas Anderson, 34, Dills Branch Road, Sylva, resisting public officer and second-degree trespass, sentence of 15 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs, defendant appealed.
