Two sessions of Jackson County District Court were held last week at the Justice Center.

Judge Tessa Sellers presided at a session mainly for traffic cases Nov. 1, and Judge Samuel Cathey presided at a session for other cases Nov. 2.

Results of the sessions are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals and infractions, dispositions included:

Nov. 1

Cayanne Bead Ramuten, 48, Asheville, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Evan Stacy Williams, 21, Southeast Ridge Road, Cashiers, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Valeria Martinez, 29, West Union, S.C., driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Nina Marie Otero, 24, Mockingbird Lane, Sylva, driving while impaired, continued to Nov. 22 for sentencing.

Joseph Gordan Buckalew III, 52, Waynesville, driving while impaired – level two, sentence of not less than nor more than 12 months suspended for 48 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $250 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and have continuous alcohol monitoring for 80 days.

Shade Izayah Anthonee Staples, 23, Cats Den Drive, Cullowhee, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Randolph Hudson Childers, 20, Inman, S.C. second-degree trespass, prayer for judgment continued from term to term for one year on condition he pay costs and not be on premises of Harrah’s Cherokee Casino.

Rebecca Joann McQuaig, 39, Winesap Drive, Sylva, two counts driving while license revoked, sentence of 10 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $50 and costs.

Colby Edward Bennett, 27, Grace Court, Tuckasegee, two counts driving while license revoked, sentence of 20 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs and surrender driver’s license; another count of driving while license revoked, fined $25 and costs.

Nov. 2

Jeremy Isaac Sequoyah, 28, Painttown Road, Cherokee, admitted to a probation violation, sentence of 30 days, given credit for 17 days served.

Jamison Lawrence Lassister, 38, Molasses Mountain Road, Sylva, admitted to two counts of probation violation, on each count probation revoked and sentences of 120 days activated, given credit for 94 days and 54 days served, sentences to run concurrently.

Kevin Scott Watson, 29, East Sylva Circle, Sylva, admitted to two counts of probation violation, on each count probation revoked and sentences of 45 days activated, given credit for 24 days served on each sentence, which are to run concurrently.

Amber Bradley, 31, Boo Hollow Road, Whittier, injury to personal property, sentence of 90 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, make restitution, have no contact with co-defendant and not be on premises of University Inn.

Christopher M. Lewis, 19, Irmo, S.C., possess marijuana and possess marijuana paraphernalia, placed on unsupervised probation for six months, ordered to pay costs and obtain substance abuse assessment.

Adrian Villagomez, 23, Harp Drive, Cashiers, second-degree trespass, fined $25 and costs and ordered to not be on premises of Chilli Loco.

Shannon Delane Coffman, 41, Rodeway Inn, Cullowhee, assault on a female, sentence of 90 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs and obtain substance abuse assessment, given credit for 14 days served.

Brent Adam Brooks, 33, Sutton Branch Road and Rhodes Cove Road, Sylva, larceny, sentence of 90 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $200 and costs and perform 24 hours community service.

Christopher Elders, 37, Skylift Drive, Sylva, solicit to commit felony to wit possess methamphetamine and possess drug paraphernalia, placed on unsupervised probation for 12 months and ordered to pay costs and obtain substance abuse assessment.

Joe Edward Maney, 50, Acquoni Road, Cherokee, fail to work after paid, sentence of seven days, given credit for seven days served, ordered to have no contact with victim.

Laura Lindsey Clark, 33, Ranzy Crawford Road, Sylva, injury to real property, sentence of 23 days , given credit for 23 days served.

Bianca Diane Donaldson, 31, Bryson City, possess drug paraphernalia, second-degree trespass and resisting public officer, sentence of 13 days, given credit for 13 days served.

George Allen Lambert, 49, Cherokee, larceny by trick, sentence of 120 days to run concurrently with any other sentence being served.

Cheryl Dion Cole, 38, Dragonfly Lane, Whittier, waived preliminary hearing and was bound over to Superior Court on charges of identify theft, (six counts), financial card fraud, possess stolen goods (three counts), obtaining property by false pretense (nine counts) and larceny (three counts).
