Two sessions of Jackson County District Court were held last week at the Justice Center with Judge Monica Leslie presiding.

Results of the sessions are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals and infractions, dispositions included:

Oct. 7

Brittany Elizabeth Barr, 29, Atlanta, Ga., speeding 90 mph in a 55 mph zone, fined $105 and costs.

Garrett Austin Hamrick, 22, Bostic, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Charlotte Rhea Fonseca, 28, Helen Zachary Road, Cullowhee, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service; possess marijuana, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation.

Jennifer Deneana Frankiewicz, 49, Indian Creek Road, Cherokee, driving while license revoked, fined $25 and costs.

Jackie Brian Stewart, 38, Alaska Drive, Cashiers, driving while impaired – level four, sentence of not less than nor more than 120 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 48 hours community service.

Kellie Pittard Levy, 55, Bryson City, driving while impaired – level four, sentence of not less than nor more than 120 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition she pay fine of $150 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 48 hours community service.

Jeffrey Maurice Robbins, 37, Bryson City, driving while license revoked, fined $25 and costs.

Chelsea Elise Corrigan, 29, Little Savannah Road, Cullowhee, driving while license revoked, fined $25 and costs.

Samantha Dion Youngdeer, 29, Enoch Sampson Road, Cherokee, no operator’s license, fined $50 and costs.

Amber Falls, 28, Converse, S.C., driving while license revoked, fined $25 and costs.

Frances Nicol Colon-Sanchez, 28, Waynesville, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Roy Edward Lockaby, 24, Murphy, waived extradition to Georgia on a charge of probation violation.

Lacy Alexies Normand, 24, Oak Hill Drive, Sylva, driving while impaired, sentencing continued to Dec. 2.

Brandon Dean Fitzgerald, 20, Matthews, driving while impaired, sentencing continued to Dec. 16.

Oct. 8

William David McCoy III, 32, Winterberry Drive, Cullowhee, driving while impaired, possess drug paraphernalia and solicit to commit felony-possess methamphetamine, sentencing continued to Nov. 25.

Carrie Marie Welch, 29, Waynesville, possess drug paraphernalia and solicit to commit felony-possess methamphetamine, placed on supervised probation for six months, fined $50 and costs and ordered to obtain initial evaluation by assessment agency.

Jeffrey Spencer Green, 47, Slabtown Road, Cashiers, operate all-terrain vehicle on roadway, fined $25 and costs.

Johnson Lloyd Sequoyah, 37, Bryson City, admitted to probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of 90 days activated, given credit for 50 days served.

Robert Lee Bigwitch Jr., 42, Adam Welch Road, Cherokee, resisting public officer, sentence of 45 days, given credit for 45 days served.

Matthew David Boud, 35, Heartland Ridge, Sylva, possess drug paraphernalia, placed on supervised probation for six months, fined $25 and costs.

Amber Elizabeth Garagiola, 20, Mint Hill, received deferred prosecution on break/enter terrorize/injury and two counts injury to personal property, placed on unsupervised probation for 12 months, perform 24 hours community service, pay costs and make restitution of $3,748.74 jointly with co-defendant.

Caroline Mercy Raybould, 21, Durham, received deferred prosecution on break/enter terrorize/injury and two counts injury to personal property, placed on unsupervised probation for 12 months, perform 24 hours community service, pay costs and make restitution of $3,748.74 jointly with co-defendant.

Steven Ray Dotson, 35, Sylvan Heights, Sylva, possess drug paraphernalia, placed on supervised probation for six months, fined $25 and costs and ordered to obtain initial evaluation by assessment agency.

Jimmy Dale Campbell, 30, N.C. 107, Glenville, possess marijuana, fined $25 and costs.

Vernie Franklin Taylor, 58, Bryson City, drunk and disruptive, sentence of 14 days, given credit for 14 days served, fined $10 and costs.

Kiah Antoinette McAfee, 29, Asheville, drunk and disruptive, sentence of one day, given credit for one day served, fined $10 and costs.

Jason Kevin Murphy, 51, Cullowhee Mountain Road, Cullowhee, second-degree trespass, sentence of one day, given credit for one day served, fined $10 and costs.

Sept. 27

Three defendants had misdemeanor cases heard during a Sept. 27 court session mainly for minor traffic violations presided over by Judge Leslie:

Dawn Dee Davis, 48, J Bradley Drive, Cherokee, possess drug paraphernalia and solicit to commit felony-possess methamphetamine, placed on supervised probation for six months, fined $25 and costs and ordered to report for initial evaluation by assessment agency and follow recommendations.

Larry James Miller, 38, Yellowhill Road, Cherokee, possess marijuana paraphernalia, sentence of 18 days, given credit for 18 days served.

April Nations, 34, Stillwell Branch Road, Cherokee, larceny, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation, given credit for two days served, ordered to not be on premises of Walmart.
