Two sessions of Jackson County District Court were held last week at the Justice Center with Judge Monica Leslie presiding.

A session mainly for traffic cases was held July 26, with a session for other cases July 27.

Results of the sessions are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals and infractions, dispositions included:

 

July 26

Daniel Levi Ladlee II, 47, Hendersonville, two counts misdemeanor death by vehicle, sentence of 120 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $200 and costs and perform 50 hours community service.

Todd William Carrier, 60, Waynesville, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Ammar Saoud Abdulaziz, 54, Maryville, Tenn., driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Jason Lee Tramper, 40, Old VFW Road, Whittier, driving while impaired – level four, sentence of not less than nor more than 120 days suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $150 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 48 hours community service.

Isaiah Nittakmiti Lewis, 25, Decatur, Miss., driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Darlena C. Austin, 52, Franklin, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Roy Alan Lusk, 69, Simple Place, Glenville, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Carol Dale Mintz, 31, Waynesville, resisting public officer, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $50 and costs.

 

July 27

Beverly Reed Queen, 64, Autumn Crest Ridge, Sylva, simple assault, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation, ordered to obtain mental health evaluation and follow recommendations.

James Lee Parham, 26, Kannapolis, assault individual with disability, prayer for judgment continued from term to term for 24 months on condition he pay costs, not be on premises of Webster Group Home, have no contact with victim or victim’s mother and not be employed in a care-giving capacity.

Kenny Nguyen, 63, Jackson Street, Sylva, domestic violence protective order violation, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $75 and costs and have no contact with victim.

Michael Willard Morgan, 43, Tilley Creek Road, Cullowhee, second-degree trespass, prayer for judgment continued from term to term for 12 months on condition he pay costs and have no contact with and not be on premises of victim.

Samantha Marlow, 52, Blairsville, Ga., simple assault, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $75 and costs.

Trent Wesley Kirkpatrick, 31, Henry Road, Sylva, admitted to violation of court order, probation changed to unsupervised.

Jacinda Ann Warren, 55, Catnip Road, Sylva, larceny, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $75 and costs and perform 24 hours community service.

Erin Roberts Harbin, 36, Hampton Street, Sylva, leash law violation, prayer for judgment continued from term to term for 12 months.

In a probable cause hearing, David Ray Sims, 46, Grassy Creek Road, Tuckasegee, was bound over to Superior Court on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

In a probable cause hearing, Shawn Aaron Bradley, 38, Dills Branch Road, Sylva, was bound over to Superior Court on a charge of felony stalking.

In a probable cause hearing, Marcos Edmund Mundo, 40, Olivine Place, Sylva, was bound over to Superior Court on charges of threaten to execute legal court officer and cyberstalking.

 

July 16

One misdemeanor case was heard July 16 at a session mainly for juvenile cases with Judge Leslie presiding:

Katrina Lynn Cook, 34, Paulette Smart Road, Cherokee, second-degree trespass, sentence of two days, given credit for two days served.

Robert Lee Gwyn Delbert, 37, Richmond, Ind., resisting public officer and drunk and disruptive, sentence of two days, given credit for two days served.
