Two sessions of Jackson County District Court were held last week at the Justice Center.
Judge Monica Leslie presided at a session mainly for traffic cases Sept. 19, and Judge Rick Walker presided at a session for other cases Sept. 20.
Results of the sessions are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals and infractions, dispositions included:
Sept. 19
Daniel Lee Snelson, 29, Luttrell,Tenn., breaking or entering and larceny, sentence of 120 days suspended for 18 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he have no contact with victim and not be on premises of Whittier Automotive, given credit for 16 days served.
Adian Luke Owen, 18, Tailhook Way, Cullowhee, speeding 98 mph in a 55 mph zone, fined $145 and costs.
Benjamin Tyler Wiggins, 27, Castle Rock Circle, Sylva, driving while impaired – level two, sentence of not less than nor more than 12 months suspended for 18 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve eight days active time, pay fine of $300 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment and surrender driver’s license.
Lisa R. Schrader, 61, Speedwell Road, Cullowhee, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.
Elizabeth Ragsdale Britt, 60, Waynesville, driving while impaired – level two, sentence of not less than nor more than 12 months suspended for 18 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition she serve seven days active time, pay costs, obtain substance abuse assessment and surrender driver’s license, given credit for 83 days served.
Jenny Lynn Davies, 42, South Wayehutta Road, Cullowhee, driving while impaired – level one, sentence of not less than nor more than 24 months suspended for 24 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition she serve 30 days active time, pay fine of $350 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment and surrender driver’s license, given credit for 15 days served, defendant appealed.
Heather Moose, 33, Gardenia Lane, Sylva, school attendance law violation, sentence of 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation, given credit for 27 days served.
Desmond Alexander Wherry, 32, Rock Hill, S.C., communicating threats, sentence of 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs, have no contact with victim and not be on premises of Harrah’s Cherokee Casino.
Hysauna Peebles Barrett, 27, Canton, Ga., pleaded no contest to second-degree trespass, prayer for judgment continued from term to term for 12 months on condition she pay costs and not be on premises of Harrah’s Cherokee Casino.

Mark Allen Winstead, 36, Frosty Ridge Road, Sylva, admitted to a probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of 45 days activated, given credit for 10 days served.
Felisha Faye Coggins, 34, Toby Bryson Road, Cullowhee, admitted to a probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of 45 days activated, given credit for seven days served.
Travis Dean Mathis, 31, Rocky Face Road, Sylva, appeared on a charge of violation of court order, remaining monies to become civil judgment.
Anna Marie Upton, 52, Spindale, second-degree trespass, sentence of 10 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay costs and not be on premises of any Walmart.
Stacey Cameron Lowe, 30, Leatherwood Road, Sylva, possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs.
Lasheena Carroll, 35, Fisher Branch Road, Cherokee, shoplifting concealment of goods, sentence of 10 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay costs and not be on premises of any Walmart.
Rachel White Urrutia, 40, Franklin, resisting public officer, sentence of 28 days, given credit for 28 days served.
Zachary Chase Wood, 22, Landing Lane, Cullowhee, second-degree trespass, sentence of 15 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay costs; injury to personal property, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs and have no contact with and not be on premise of victims, given credit for 34 days served.
Jace Christopher Milkey, 24, Grizzy Drive, Sylva, larceny, sentence of 120 days suspended for 18 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, not be on premises of Jarrett House and have no contact with victim; posses stolen goods, sentence of 120 days suspended for 18 months and placed on supervised probation.
Javier Alejandro-Luna Sanchez, 38, Bryson City, breaking or entering, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs and have no contact with and not be on premises of victim, given credit for five days served.
Jordan Wayne Lance, 30, Waynesville, larceny, sentence of 120 days suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs; another count of larceny, sentence of 120 days suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation.
Preston Lawrence Davis, 31, Nicol Arms Road, Sylva, admitted to a probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of 35 days activated, given credit for 35 days served.
