A session of Jackson County District Court was held Aug. 31 at the Justice Center with Judge Kris Earwood presiding.

Results of the session are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals and infractions, dispositions included:

Michael Curtis Nichols, 50, Atlanta, Ga., obstructing justice, sentence of 120 days suspended for 18 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $150 and costs.

Leander Jarrell, 29, Race Lane, Sylva, assault inflicting serious injury and breaking or entering, sentence of 75 days, given credit for 75 days served.

Gary John Norris, 58, Westridge Road, Sylva, assault on a female, assault with a deadly weapon and communicating threats, sentence of 150 days, given credit for 48 days served; also waived extradition to Florida on charges of harassing phone calls, aggravated stalking and written threats to kill.

Jake Michael Radford, 22, Catolster Johnson Road, Cherokee, possess marijuana and carrying concealed gun, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs.

Sierra Salone Jenkins, 30, Levi Mathis Road, Whittier, admitted to a probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of 60 days activated.

Darin Guffey, 22, Husk Drive, Cullowhee, disorderly conduct, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs, make restitution and have no contact with victim.

Kimberly Anne Santy, 40, Calendar Court, Sylva, possess drug paraphernalia, placed on unsupervised probation for six months, fined $50 and costs; larceny and first-degree trespass, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $50.

Christopher Earl Southards, 54, Johnson Arch Road, Cherokee, admitted to a probation violation, probation terminated, monies owed to become civil judgment.

Clinton John Tutolo, 36, Tuts Terrace, Sylva, possess Schedule II controlled substance, sentence of 120 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs and obtain substance abuse assessment.

Amanda Dawn Clawson, 40, Hallie Manor Court, Sylva, admitted to two counts of probation violation, on each count probation revoked and sentences of 120 days activated, given credit for 14 days served, sentences to run concurrently with any other sentence being served.

Leah Jordan Szittai, 32, Old Cullowhee Road, Carolina Village, Cullowhee, child abuse, prayer for judgment continued from term to term on condition she pay costs.

Kenneth Lee Tramper, 42, Lee Bird Road, Cherokee, possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 120 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs and obtain substance abuse assessment.

Brittany Nicole Woodard, 30, Fairview Road, Sylva, possess drug paraphernalia, placed on supervised probation for 12 months, ordered to pay fine of $100 and costs and obtain substance abuse assessment.

Kimberly C. Juarez, 38, Windchime Lane, Cashiers, possess drug paraphernalia, sentence of 45 days, given credit for three days served.

Robert Allen Hooper, 45, Cope Creek Road, Sylva, and Keyhole Lane, Cullowhee, admitted to two counts of probation violation, on each count probation revoked and sentences of 150 days and 120 days activated, given credit for five days served, sentences to run consecutively with each other and concurrently with any other sentence being served.

Bryan David Stalling, 48, McConnells, S.C., was found guilty of assault on a female, sentence of 90 days, given credit for three days served, defendant appealed.
